[šŸ“°WIP] Unofficial Gimkit Creative Community Beginners Resources

Hello?
taptap
testing testing… nice
Okay, lets go:

NOTE: I’m open to feedback, but I’m also going to stick with the style that fits the welcoming, genuine, not overly formal or strict purpose I intended this guide to be.
Different people prefer different tones, and that’s okay.
Additional: I’m aware people have said this is going to get flagged as off-topic, if you are thinking of flagging this please know I’m not trying to be off-topic, I have legitimately put together a list of guides that could genuinely help people.

:sparkles:Are you new to Gimkit Creative or the forums??:sparkles:

yes? okay…
Or maybe you want to critique this guide, that’s ok too!
So maybe you are asking, ā€œWhat’s this even for, palm?ā€

welp basically…
I made a collection of guides for Gimkit Creative or Gimkit forum beginners and added little notes along the way! Hope you enjoy

creative beginners guides

A Guide for Gimkit Creative Beginners (SEE POST 6)

This guide by @recalledMemories shows basic steps to Gimkit Creative. Good for brand new users who are confused by the tools  this is a super easy one and walks you through the basic interface clearly. solid 8.5/10

The ULTIMATE Gimkit Creative Beginner Handbook!

This guide by @Argo77 is a more detailed one and is much longer than the one made by recalledMemories. Awesome if you are willing to put a solid chunk of time into reading up on Gimkit Creative. 9.5/10. This one also comes with an advanced counterpart, which you might want to check out later!

I Just Started Gimkit Creative. What do I do? {The ultimate beginner's guide to Gimkit Creative}

This guide by @NavyCatZ is unlike the last two because it gives you help on making the map and gives ideas rather than guiding you through the interface of Gimkit Creative. It has some tips for the interface, but less detailed than the others. However, it is much better at guiding you through the building process overall. 8/10.

Resources for Map Ideas [šŸ“°]

Hm. It may seem weird that I’m posting a link to a resource guide in a resource guide, but this collection by @Rusty can really help once you’ve got the basics down and have figured out all the tools. If you run out of game ideas… You might want to check out this one. 9/10

Fleet’s Quick TIps on how to make your map unique

Maybe you checked out the previous guide, and it seemed pretty generic? If so, you should definitely check out this one by @Fleet. fleet helps here by emphasizing the idea that you should think of something you haven’t seen in Gimkit before, even things like personal connections or inspiration from reality. He also emphasizes that you are not alone in the building process. This one is also relatively short and won’t take too much time to read. 8.5/10

Game mode ideas and Map Tips for Beginner

This guide by @ProPlayer95 shows some basic tips that actually turn out to be quite helpful! It’s a short guide and has packed much information inside it, so there’s no need to spend too much time. Overall, great guide, but it has been accused of duplication. I’m not sure which guide he’s duplicating, so if anyone finds it i’ll go ahead and fix this. 8/10 if original, 3.5/10 if duplicated.

The Ultimate Ideas Collection

i dont even know what to say. This is literally every game idea you could ever need. 10/10.

The Cursorian Handbook to Gimkit Creative

This one by eiqcrmeliutgwhc is, I have to say, pretty long. However, it is especially helpful because it breaks up the sections into beginner, intermediate, advanced, and miscellanious. It covers most of the fundamental elements of gimkit creative while staying at a pretty (if you have a little bit of time) readable length. Overall, I’d give it a solid 9/10.

Those are some cool guides I could find for now. What else should I add?

forum beginners guides

(šŸ“£ FA) Types of Posts that are not allowed

This guide shows the types of posts that are not allowed on the forums. I’m sure there are a lot of other types of posts that give the same idea. This one is another short/medium one with some widely known general rules. 7.5/10

https://forum.creative.gimkit.com/guidelines

This one is the official, gimkit forum made guidelines.
yes you heard that right
THE OFFICIAL
Ok, maybe i shouldnt exaggerate that too much, but yeah, you get the point. This one is the site’s general rules. I would prefer you read this over some community-made ones, as the community-made ones tend to sometimes lack some details. 9.5/10

Tips and Tricks for Navigating the Forum!

Another guide by @NavyCatZ. This one is more for interacting across the forums. navycatz does a good job here by formatting it nicely with dropdowns. It explains the interface and navigation, along with some tips that should be shared with the community. 8/10.

Trust Levels Guide

I found another one by @Argo77 !! This guide explains the trust levels in the Gimkit Creative Community Forum. In case you’re new, this guide can show you how to rank up and what permissions you may have at your current trust level (along with the other trust levels). Great guide overall (Again), and definitely check this out if you want to get leveled up. 8.5/10

Welcome to the Forums!

This guide made by @Blackhole927 (a moderator!) is a useful guide for anyone who needs some help on tools, formats, tricks, and codes that other users might use in their topics/posts. Blackhole927 does a great job introducing concepts of the forum, from formatting tips and categories to difficulty color codes. 9/10.

I might add some more soon, but I think this is done for now. pls feel free to share any guides to add!

BONUS:

The Ultimate Guide to GKC and Gimkit (For beginners)

I couldn’t really find a single category to put this one in, so it’s a bonus! This guide by @Crimson_Knight sums up nearly all the details featured in the other guides, so if you’re in a hurry, you might want to take a look here. @Crimson_Knight did a great job here at compacting a lot of details together while keeping many important elements. 9/10.
this one is one of my personal favorites…

Outro

And that pretty much sums it up. Thanks for viewing my collection, and thanks to all the ppl that created any of these guides! You can make nearly anything in GKC, from [ šŸ¤ Mini Guide!] How To Make A Cake! [1/10] to How to make a custom pressure plate (oh wait, that was my own guide…)
Hope this helps and
if you’re new…

WELCOME TO THE FORUMS!

(That saying will never, ever get old)
wait…what? i cant be talking. im new…

-palm

P.S. thanks to tacky_stars, SuffyPro97, bakedpotato, and Gimkit_Lover for feedback/additional map requests

Uhh okay
Not saying I’m gonna be the one to do it, but this is 1000% going to get flagged.
Unfortunately, we have people here who see this stuff as unfit/un-needed.

What I will say is:

You should change the title to the one I made because (I’ma be real with you), the current one is a giant eyesore.

[:newspaper: Resources] Gimkit Creative community beginners resources.

Also add resources

Secondly,
This guide is kinda PSA-y, so you should try to sound more formal than personal.

I think this is off-topic and there are some other guides like this, but this could be useful to some new users, and it’s a good start. I’m not going to flag it, but this could be flagged as off-topic by other users. I also agree with tacky_stars, I think that editing it to make it a bit more professional could be useful.

It’s really up to you.

I’ve had my fair share of making unofficial official posts rubs dust off of shoulder, so if you need any other suggestions, ping me please!

Edit: @P4LMTR33S If this guide does end up getting flagged, you can re-edit it after 10 minutes, and it will reopen. If the post is flagged 2x, it’s gone permanently. Just in case that happens, here’s a link:
