Fleet’s Quick TIps on how to make your map unique

Many people want to know how to make their maps better, one of the best ways is to be unique, meaning to make something that hasn’t been done before, for example, making a game where you want to try to get knocked out the most of all the players instead of wanting to knockout the most players. this guide is here to help others make their map unique using these tips.

Tip #1: Think of an idea you haven't seen in gimkit before

this one I use a lot, when making something in gimkit, its important to ask yourself “has this been made before” if it has then try to put a spin on the idea that makes your map different from the rest, for example lets say you want to make a battle royale, you could make it so that while trying to get the most knockouts you are trying to reach the top of a tower to win the game. remember when making a game with many games doing it already, you need a mechanic to set your game apart.

Tip #2: take inspiration from what you enjoy!

Remember that Gimkit Creative isn’t about plays, or fame, or popularity, its about making what you want to, with a little creativity! for example, you might take inspiration from games outside gimkit you personally enjoy!

Tip #3: Even when following guides, you can still change around guides to your liking

Many people just look through guides and follow them with out thinking about changing the systems, changing the systems around can help you learn why and how these things work, and how you can manipulate them in different ways!

Tip #4: Remember people are here to help

whenever you cant think of what to do with your game next, remember you can always ask other people for ideas, We are here to help!

Tip #5: look at things you know, and try to use them in different ways

many devices in Gimkit Creative can be used in alternative ways, triggers aren’t meant to loop things, but they CAN be used that way. remember to always try to explore with what you have, look into things you didn’t know were possible, remember the skys the limit (and the memory bar too, I guess)

Hopefully you can find these tips helpful for you in making your maps unique, that’s all friends!

the difference between this and mine is that mine shows ways to think of new ideas, while those ones show unique ideas they thought of. but just in case someone gets confused on this again I’ll rename it to say “Fleet’s Quick TIps on how to make your map unique”

in my game, i thought of a BUMP to add it.

i think this belongs to no-pictures

Hmm. That makes sense, but I thought no-pictures was used for guides that got cooked in the image purge, or is it just for guides without pictures entirely?

I think according to Slim its for any guide without pictures, purged or not.

I see. Do you have a quote of Slim saying this?
(Not that I don’t believe you, but just so that I have 100% proof that the tag can be added to any guide without pictures)

Thanks for the help.

Yes, I made it for really any topic without pictures, but mostly guides. I just reached out to Josh to see if we can have some category changes.

Oh, and this was the idea for new categories we tossed around.

Maybe art guides could be like a sub-category under Community Made Guides ?
