Create a Tag or Hide-And-Seek Game Part 3: Gameplay {Difficulty 3/10, or 🟩}

Hello. Gimkit people and this is part 3 of my Tag/Hide-And-Seek Guide! If you haven’t already, go to these guides:

or

unless you have your own!

If you remember, I’m making a medieval-themed game.

Step 1. Teleport to Arena

1A

1A. Go into the till-game counter and set the target value on and to zero.

1B

1B. Make a teleporter in the arena.

1C

1C. Connect a wire from the counter to the teleporter.

1D

1D. Test it out!

1E

1E. Make the teleporter invisible, if you wish.

Step 2. Delay Taggers from Teleporting

2A

Delete the wire you just added between the counter and the teleporter. Add a checker.
Then add a property named ‘Tag Team?’.

Then, add another counter.

2B

Then, make both the counter and the property scope to ‘PLAYER’.

2C

Make the counter’s property to Tag Team? .
Screenshot 2024-02-28 9.15.59 AM
Connect the zone above the tag team to the counter, increasing it.

In the checker, make it check for property, equals 1.

2D

Wire the till-game counter (NOT THE ONE WE JUST MADE) to the checker.

Wire the checker to the teleporter.

The reason it says ‘Check Failed’ is because if check fails, it means the team is NOT the tag team.

2E

Then, add a wire repeater and set delay to 15 seconds.

Wire the checker to the wire repeater.

Then, wire the repeater to the teleporter.

And you’re done!

After making sure that your arena has places to hide and that it has walls around it,

Now I will show you how to make an end-game timer.
I’ll do this a different way now. I’ll tell you all the materials and options, along with interactivity.

Materials

MATERIALS:
-1 Counter
-1 Repeater
-1 Checker
-1 Property
-1 Game Overlay

3A

First, make the repeater interval 1 second. Make it stop after certain duration, and make it the number of seconds your game will be. 5-15 minutes are recommended.

3B

Go into the counter, enable the target value, and make it 0. Also set its default value to the game time you chose.
![Screenshot 2024-03-07 5.30.39 PM|435x271](upload://xbJoNmvgVPnHHXpkg07oX0hyRWI.png

3C

Go to the counter’s property tab, and set its property to ‘Game Timer’.

3D

Go into the property and name it ‘Game Timer’. Make it a number property. Also make it broadcast ‘UPDATE TIME’ when it is updated.

3E

Go into the checker, and make Check 1 like this:

3F

IN the Game Overlay, add a block.

Add these simple lines:

I AM VERRY SORRY, BUT IT SHOULD NOT SAY GAME END. IT SHOULD SAY UPDATE TIME.

Wiring

Now for the wiring!
Wire the teleporter you used to teleport players to the arena to the repeater.

Wire the repeater to the counter.

Wire the repeater to the checker.

That is it for the actual gameplay, but there will be at least two more parts, so stay tuned!

Thank you for staying till the end of this floppy, messy Guide!

LOOK! :hushed: :face_with_open_eyes_and_hand_over_mouth: :eyes: :star_struck:

I am creating a challenge for you! Here are the prompts:
Arena Design:
-A space/Among Us arena
-Halloween arena
Debug:
-Find a bug or a problem, and propose a way to solve it.
Prizes
Hmm… IDK but maybe I’ll make a Hall of Fame in GKC and share it with you!

I don’t expect a lot of people participating, so share this guide?

Oh and also, look to this guide if you want info about minute/sec timer:

Wow thats a lot. How long does it take to make it?

Depending on your speed, I’d say 10 min to an hour.

For me this would take 20 min

Oh no wait 10 min I just read the thing

Some constructive critisim
1: I recommand crediting other Tag and Hide-And-Seek gudies as well: Cameron's Guide to Regular Tag!

2: Also, I recommand making one big guide instead of one guide over part of a map. I did that too when I was new. Making one big guide allows people to scroll and click less and to make less clutter so other guides can get reconized. Sometimes it is good to have multiple guides on something in different parts:

  • Extremely different difficulties
  • Ran out of character limit
  • Ran out of editing time
