tomorrow gimkit is releasing new music
I saw it on discord
but you cant upload your own music
I really don’t know why y’all are all still suggesting devices that require player interaction for a music system.
Creating a custom song using devices is difficult, and attempting to somehow include player actions and properly sync them with sentries (the only device that makes sound doesn’t require player involvement) is even harder.
I need to clarify something. This is NOT ABOUT THE SONGS THAT ARE ALREADY IN-GAME. Rather it’s about using in-game sounds to MAKE music
Could we nolt gimkit about adding a music device?
They’re already planning that

Slightly Off-Topic Part
I was just thinking about “Hey, what if we had custom music blocks in a programmable way, or a device where you could upload a MIDI or WAV (or other music file) file and program it to play at a certain point?”
Using these in game sounds would probably be very difficult, but you could probably make a four-time beat using sentries falling into something to respawn them, and they are evenly timed, I guess
So like a metronome?
Oh hey thanks @InkyDarkBird for putting this in research :DD
Pitch = Rythmn
If you could make a… let’s say vending machine ring fast enough, that would resemble a pitch. By making it slower, you could have a lower pitch, and vise versa.
Unfortunately, you can’t make the vending machine ring fast enough to resemble a pitch that is easier to hear.
If you search up 10,000 BPM metronome, and click on a video with a metronome that fast, it doesn’t sound like a metronome at all. It just sounds like a sustained beep, but, as (if) it gets faster, the pitch gets higher.
- Yes
- No
Should I move this into clay institute?
Huh? uh, what?
I would love for that to happen, but I don’t think it’s possib-… wait a quick second, Blackhole said
So maybe, just maybe, we ca probably work something out of the sounds that checkpoints and buttons make
Or maybe even with sentries firing gadgets ![]()
Well if we were to time shots for Sentries we could theoretically make a rhythm of noises
and checkpoints and stuff
We could use grid snap to evenly space the sentries if they’re falling. But it would probably take a lot of sentries based on the length of the song.
well if they re-add sentry interactions we could use teleporters
A possible way that could work is to deactivate and reactivate a sentry with a gadget hitting a tanky sentry
Yeah, we would just need to make sure the sentries touch the ground before they teleport. But I don’t know if sentry interactions will be back. ![]()
Why did everyone forget the damage boost device?! It doesn’t need player interactions/has a great sound!
It has a sound? I mostly play gimkit without sound di yea
This piano guide here has been recently created, so research has effectively ended.
Unless anyone objects with valid reasoning, this research topic will be closed in 1 day.
@InkyDarkBird, you said that vending machines and checkpoints wouldn’t work because they require player interaction, right? Well, I tested them and you can actually make them play sound indirectly through channels, so they would work perfectly. I understand that someone has already worked out how to do sentry-based music, but I feel like this research topic is still valid because there are other things we can try to find out about GKC music creation.
