How to make a FULLY functional piano 2/10

So now you’re probably thinking “isn’t there another guide about this?” like @cinnamonroll_cat 's guide, I’m going to tell you no. The difference is that this guide explains how to perform sound by clicking the piano.

Now I will explain how I made the piano perform sound: zone/trigger triggered = sentries activate, also zone/trigger wired to wire repeater, wire repeater time delay= 0.5, wire repeater wired to sentries deactivate, Sentry 1 & Sentry 2 have 9999 health, Sentry 1= Team 1, Sentry 2= Team 2, Sentry 1 has max difficulty, Sentry 2 has lowest difficulty. In which gadgets will be used like the zapper has a sound and most of the time Sentry 1 will use the gadget 1-3 times. So then Zone/Trigger used= 1-3 note(s).

And how much gadgets are there in gimkit, answer= A HANDFUL= A HANDFUL of different notes. In this guide I will be demonstrating the sentry way of sound with zappers but you can change the gadget to any other if you want to have another sound.

Now there are also other ways to make sounds but for now this guide will focuse on how to get sounds from sentries.

So now I will show you how to make a FULLY functional piano.

for every note you have you will need: 1x zone, 4x barriers, 2 sentries.

Step one

GET A PIANO!!! using barrier art or this guide

Step two

Now have your trigger or zone over each note like this
Screenshot 2024-12-27 8.36.22 PM

Step three

Zone settings should look like this
Screenshot 2024-12-27 8.40.36 PM
or if you had trigger settings it would look like this
Screenshot 2024-12-27 8.44.46 PM

Step four

Get a wire repeater and set it to these settings
Screenshot 2024-12-27 8.50.30 PM

Step five

Connect your trigger to the wire repeater like this

or if you have a zone it would look like this

Step six

Now after you have wondered what the heck has a barrier to do with a piano other than barrier art. You just trust me. Anyways you need to create a box with the barriers like this.
Screenshot 2024-12-27 9.15.18 PM

Step seven

Now get two sentries and place them in the boxes made of barriers that should look like this
Screenshot 2024-12-27 8.48.49 PM
Ignore the wires

Step eight

Now remember that wire repeater? Connect it to the sentries.
Wire repeater → deactivate sentry
Wire repeater → deactivate sentry
Do this for the two sentries
That should look like this. For both sentries (I feel like I am not clear enough) but do this for TWO sentries in the box
That means you should see this screen two times and connect it two times, and as I was saying this is how it should look like

*sighs, DO THIS TWO TIMES THIS SHOULD BE HOW THE WIRES LOOK LIKE FOR NOW
Screenshot 2024-12-27 9.30.47 PM

Step nine

This is going to be the final step. Me be like: **ugh, finaallyyy.* Now it is very IMPORTANT you follow the exact same settings except for gadgets. So for sentry 1 these are the settings (meaning these settings only apply for 1 Sentry).

Sentry 1 settings

*Still Sentry 1 settings

Sentry 2 settings

Equipment

Get the equipment which is: +1 zone +2 barrier +1 wire repeater. You should disassemble the piano carefully. Here is what all the equipment should look like.

Step 1

Set all the equipment to the right settings. WAIT! Did you make a smaller and darker barrier? Look at the picture in equipment. But anyways here are the settings for the equipment.

Zone
You should already have this if you did the guide fully.

Big barrier/Barrier 1
You should already have this if you did the guide fully.

Small barrier/Barrier 2

Wire repeater

Step 2

Connect the wires:
Zone (player entered zone) → Wire repeater
Wire repeater → Big barrier/Barrier 1 (activate)
Wire repeater → Small barrier/Barrier 2 (deactivate)

Wire 1

Wire 2

Wire 3

I wonder if there is anyway to play a different note faster instead of walking towards it. Perhaps we could add instant delayed buttons, but cool guide.

Cool! Great guide!

@Ghassan could you add a gif of the final product please. It would help us see how the piano works.

This is pretty neat. Must have taken a while. If you’re looking for any constructive criticism, all I’d say is that the grammar was a little off at times, but that isn’t really important. Well organized and well done!

I exist now

Yep. I’m here. Still working on something. Expect information eventually.
In fact, while I was gone, I was still watching. I also saw the… spam eight year old situation. I wrote things in my bio, in case anyone’s interested. This is probably going to be edited out anyways.

I’m happy to be back. I had great timing, too. Since a certain user got anonymized the other day.

Me? Wait what? I didn’t create this guide! I suppose you meant @Ghassan.

lol I thought you created this guide at first too toxic. wonder why… I guess the pfps have a similar color scheme. Also, nice guide @Ghassan! I probably wont use this, but I’m sure others will!

Also, YAY! @Turtle exists!

This must have taken you a long time to write and figure out! And a nice explantion, I love the idea of working music in Creative.

The piano is once again wrong. Black keys come in groups of 2 and 3, not 4. This is not the first time I’ve said this. This is unforgivable. Nice guide!

Well I don’t think a 7 year old would notice.

Yeah, but Gimkit’s actually meant for people over 7. (Plus, some 7-year-olds play the piano.)

Ok… But most players are 7 year olds… or at least that’s what I witnessed.

What Ghassan’s trying to say is that he didn’t notice it was wrong because he’s seven years old. On a more serious note, a lot more people know how a piano looks than you think.

Even if a 7-year-old doesnt notice, you should still strive to have the best possible edition of your guide for many reasons.

In step one it states

That means use the piano that you want to use.
And I didn’t create a fancy piano and instead a basic piano to make the reader know this is at least what your piano should look like.
