It's not impossible

You’ll never hear from me again, sorry. This account is being shut down, and I won’t be logging on to it ever again. It sucks to have to get up and leave like this, but unfortunately Gimkit has gotten far, far, far into my personal life, to the point of unhealthiness. I’ve put thousands of hours into this community, and unfortunately I think it’s time for me to leave. I’m loading up on schoolwork, and I don’t think I can afford to spend so much time here anymore.

Why am I leaving? Why not just stick around and be inactive? Well, my parents (and mind you, they’re right) are firmly set in the belief that my screen time is far, far, far too high. With this in mind, I’ve decided the best course of action is going to be to just leave the community completely. I love this place, so I’ll always be watching from afar (ping me in your post and I will see it, even though I won’t respond).

Why am I posting it on the “It’s not impossible” post? Because I feel like the perfect message to leave on is one that emphasizes this. I’ve said so many things about how this post should be interpreted, so I’ll clarify a final time: With the exception of things that require access to the live internet, or things that have been proved computationally impossible, everything is possible. Mind you, it’s not going to be easy, and it could take hundreds of hours of work, but in theory, everything is possible in GKC.

Thank you, everyone, for being an amazing community. I’ve loved spending my time here, even if it wasn’t the best use of it. I want to thank you all for just being kind and awesome people, along with some good friends. Thank you Josh and Jeff for making Gimkit, and thank you to the whole of the Gimkit staff for maintaining and building up this wonderful game. Thank you all, for everything.

To the Discord

Sorry I couldn’t get this message to you all on discord, but I wanted to thank you all too. You all have been an incredible set of friends, and all the hours I’ve spent hanging out there were awesome. From joining as a random member, to becoming a gamenight host, to becoming a mod, there’s so much I want to list. I also have a specific set of thank you’s to go through real quick:

Thank you to TGG, Eesoog, Jjmol, Unstable, and Top Z for being cool and awesome people
Thank you to Team Spacie (ClicClac, Navy, WhoAmI, Top Z, Zypher, etc) for again being cool and awesome people
Thank you to the TGTC people (Hexaheximal, Riptide, TheLazySquid) for being cool modders and awesome people.
Thank you to The Gimkit Gang people (all the people who have been in the group at some point or another) for being awesome people.
Thank you to the Gimkit Forum ppl, yall are awesome too

I’m very rushed in writing this so I can’t list everyone else. Just because, and I want to emphasize this, just because your name isn’t on there doesn’t mean you weren’t a cool person to me. It just means that my sleep deprived brain couldn’t think of your name after not being on discord for a week and not sleeping for over 24 hours (math challenge problem haha).

As for other matters of business, the Gimkit Awards. I can’t host them, so I’ll pass that off to unstable. I hope they continue on well, and I hope you all (on both the discord and forums) continue to enjoy them. For modding the discord, my account there will most likely soon be deleted so I wish Meepy and Ohioan the best of luck with moderation there. I may check in from time to time, but you’ll never see another message from me there.

The discord holds a special place in my heart, as it’s the second big discord community I ever joined. Thank you all for making it the special and awesome place that it is, and I hope you all continue to do so.

I’m not really sure how to end this off, as I didn’t expect to be leaving this soon. I’ll continue to mess around in GKC in my free time, and maybe you’ll see some cool projects posted to discovery made by an “anonymous user”. Outside of this, I’ll be leaving the Gimkit community as an active member. If you have anything you would like to get to me (again, don’t expect a response) you can send a message containing the phrase “blackholecheckthisout”, so that I can search for it using discord’s message search tool.

I’m currently sitting at my computer, and trying to think of anything else to say. I’m at a loss for words honestly, so… I guess I just say goodbye now.

Goodbye now.
