How to make good paths!

Hey everyone! I’ve seen a few maps without good pathways, so here’s a guide on how to make them!

just a warning! I have the season pass, but you DO NOT need it to make good paths.

First off, let’s talk about why good paths are important, Good paths are important when making a game in Gimkit because they help players navigate through different stages or areas, creating a clear game that enhances the overall gameplay experience.

tips! (Read before making path please)

First off try to stick to a certain range of colors when making pathways, not too many, but not to little. Examples:

This is mostly optional but it most likely will make it look better (you should
really make your own, mine aren’t that good )^.

will add more in future

paths (steps inside)

please do not forget, 1. You do not need to use my block/color pallet, you also do not need to make the same background.
And 2. These are not the only way to make paths, there are many more, so if you do not feel satisfied with any of them, you can just search one up and use it.

path 1

I am making it desert themed! (optional).
also don’t forget you block pallet!

1, Make a single line or branching out line out of your main color/block:

2, sprinkle around some of your second color () something like this:

3, is basically the as 2, sprinkle around your third color (A little more sparingly)

4, is also almost the same, except you should use one of your more darker colors but use it much less

5, this is optional but will most likely make your pathway look better:
First, add some grass/ background.
Second, get a block thats a type of brick (can be other than a brick) and put it a layer higher then the background.
Third (and last) put the “bricks” all around you path and it should look something like this:

ughhh I can’t tell if this looks bad lol, I think it does but I cant tell, so lastly, if you don’t like it tell me and I’ll try and improve it

more coming soon!

what not to do
  • Just a plain dirt path:

They’re okay to use but are kind of boring and too many people use them.
    —————————
  • Don’t overuse/ just randomly sprinkle different terrain.

—————————

  • Don’t forget to change the brush from “walls” to “floor”, this is a rookie mistake (:skull: bro I feel so professional lol: “this is a rookie mistake in the very important and useful path making way” ) that will ruin your path if you don’t just want look at it- I’ve done it before :/

It sort of reminds me of Minecraft texturing. Could you add footbridges and maybe some like props to use, like grass and moss? Great job by the way.

Also I’m going to move it to Art.

Yeah I’ll add that later in details

Just like Turtle said, this kind of reminds me of those types of “Minecraft Build Videos” where they make the super complex pathways.

It’s a good guide, nonetheless. Haven’t really seen this type of guide before, so it’s a good change of pace from all the technical block code and whatnot.

Overall? I’d say 7/10. I’d rate it higher- but it’s not finished.

Good job.

I would rank this a 8/10. Like @C-C said, it isn’t done

10/10, good job!
Tip: Remember to layer your terrain, it helps make the end result look good!

these paths are really good:) Thx for the guide! I will use some of these ideas for my games
