4 months to figure what a Camera View is in Gimkit Creative

After starting to play Gimkit Creative in September of 2025, I now know a lot more about the devices in the game, but I don’t know enough, so if anyone has tips or tricks in Gimkit Creative, like how to use devices, Channels and others, please let me know so I can be the best I can be!

Here’s some info on what devices to overuse and not overuse.

Here’s a Beginner guide.

Also look through gimkit-beginners tag.

Thanks for all the help in getting started. Maybe we can play a Gimkit together or play each other’s maps!

If you want camera view specifics:

Place down your camera view. This will NOT be active once the game starts, you will need a zone/button/something like that to activate it. Once activated, it will not deactivate until manually deactivated. This can be tricky, considering that in most cases you won’t be able to see where you are, therefore presenting the chance that you may miss a button that deactivates it.

The easiest way to solve this (at least for me) is with zones. Channels (or wires) to activate the point when the player enters, and another channel/wire to deactivate the point once they step out of it.

should help a ton

also, @Hdangerzones, you gave stuff for the camera POINT. what the op asked for is camera view, which you can see in the title. @goodbread, please correct me if i’m wrong. The camera view limits the area you can see in, the only thing you can do with it is change the size of the area.

@TheCatIsCrazy oopsies there are two different camera devices and i get confused… Yes, camera view sets boundaries, and the camera point moves the camera to a different location.

I forgot: Camera view is great for setting boundaries, but they can be stepped out of (once this has happened they will be able to see outside of the camera view unless they go back in it). If you want them to only be able to see inside the camera view and not have them be able to jump/walk out of it, wall terrain and invisible barriers work well for limitting this.

As long as it’s not sharing links here.

Marking @Gaming-Phoenix I believe is the best choice.
