hello, I want a moving sentry for a boss in my game
sadly,this is not possible yet
Moving sentries are not possible yet, but you can simulate it with sentry animation
You can make moving sentries with
Animation
.
Unfortunately, moving sentries arenât possible in Gimkit creativeâŚyet. You can make one with animation (Link: How to create animation (Zappy's method) but itâs very hard to do that and it looks choppy.
vro how do you guys type so fast đ
yes, but it wonât carry health and if itâs a boss it should probably carry health when it moves
if you want the health to stay the same then it isnât possible, if it isnât supposed to be defeated then use animation if it isnât supposed to be defeatable
pseudo-health is useless in this case because thatâs for players and the carrying damage topic was a bug that is patched (I think)
@SuffyPro97 , I used your ways.
knew it immediately, so obvious i didnât have to read more than the first line
yes, but it wonât carry health and if itâs a boss it should probably carry health when it moves
I remember there was a guide on pseudo-health, maybe that would work? And I think there has been another topic about carrying damage
js use these
To make them move just make a bunch of copies of them all around the map, then here are the rest of the steps, the copy animatronics should NOT be active during the start of the game. Place a life cycle thatâs event is âgame startâ Place a trigger next to the lifecycle and make the delay however long you want. Wire the lifecycle to the trigger [IMG_0555] Then place a trigger next to the first trigger and set the delay to however long you want Wire the our first trigger to the next trigger âŚ
I just found a way to make moving sentries on platformer maps which unlocks possible apocalypse-styled maps on platformers. In order to do this, 1st, set your map to fragility. 2nd, place your sentry down on a platform 3rd, fire at the sentry and when it respawns, it moves as if it also had fragility. The one downside is that the sentry will respawn back to where it was placed even when it is moved. Example: [Example]
Okay, so this will be a simple guide compared to other algorithms. Itâs simple, at the cost of the ai not being quite smart⌠Not wasting any more time in the intro! How to make it: wall version. IMPORTANT: Once you load into your map, using a player coordinate device, find the box where the player coordinates are -1, -1. You may need to play around a bit with the player coordinate device and your maze to find it. The coordinate of -1, -1 will be where the top-left corner of the maze is. ThâŚ
Hey buddy, let me let you on a little secret Donât edit the wiki Ok? Good, now for the guide So in case any of you wanted to know you can teleport sentries in Platformer!!! That would be #bbsi wouldnât it? But weâre not here to talk about the tag, but instead a sentry can now follow you when you go somewhere, and thatâs what weâre here for (I hope). Itâs pretty simple as well, so simple it takes about 2% or 3% for what Iâm about to make, so leâs get crackinâ. What youâll need: 3 zones 1 sentâŚ
Did you even check the guides?
Like all of them are outdated.
I realized that by now
It still has the text, so use the text to help
edit: At this point
Moving sentries in Gimkit Creative is a great way to turn a static defense into a dynamic boss fight or a patrolling guard. Since sentries donât have a âwalkâ setting by default, you have to use Wire and a few specific devices to get them mobile.
Here is the most effective way to set this up.
The Essentials
To make a sentry move, you will need:
- Sentry Device: Your guard.
- Mover Device: The engine that actually shifts the sentryâs position.
- Path Device: The track the sentry will follow.
Step-by-Step Setup
- Place the Path
First, layout where you want the sentry to go.
- Search for the Path Device in your inventory.
- Place down nodes (points) to create a loop or a line.
- Pro Tip: In the Path settings, ensure âClosed Loopâ is on if you want them to pace back and forth forever.
- Configure the Mover
The Mover is the âparentâ that carries the sentry.
- Place a Mover Device at the start of your path.
- In the Mover settings, select Path to Follow and pick the path you just made.
- Adjust the Speed (standard sentries move best at a medium pace; too fast and they look glitchy).
- Attach the Sentry
This is the trickiest part. You need to tell the game the Sentry is âridingâ the Mover.
- Place your Sentry directly on top of the Mover.
- Open the Sentry settings and look for âAttach to Mover.â Select the Mover you placed.
- Alternatively, you can use the Wire Tool to connect the Moverâs âOn Movementâ or âStartedâ signal to the Sentry, but âAttachâ is much more stable.
- Wire it to Start
The Mover wonât move until itâs told to.
- For an automatic guard: Place a Game Start Device. Wire it so that When Game Starts \rightarrow Mover \rightarrow Start Forward.
- For a âTriggeredâ guard: Wire a Pressure Plate or Sentry Spotted signal to the Moverâs âStartâ function.
Pro Tips for Better Sentries
- Rotation: In the Mover settings, enable âRotate to Path.â This ensures the sentry faces the direction it is walking rather than sliding sideways like a crab.
- Health Bars: If this is a boss, wire the Sentryâs âOn Damagedâ signal to a Message Device to taunt the players.
- The âVanishâ Trick: If you want the sentry to disappear after reaching the end of a path, wire the Moverâs âPath Finishedâ signal to the Sentryâs âDespawnâ function.
Would you like me to explain how to make the sentry speed up or change phases when its health gets low?
@SuffyPro97 , I used your ways.
all I know is that this is off topic
well iâm not going to fight, atlas, but iâm not trying to do anything
this is d1 ă

their coming out with the release of donât look down 2 on March 4
Where did you get that information from?
I didnât know that! But you still shouldnât use AIâŚ
Just wait until they release moving sentries, the only current way is memory-inefficient. And we donât even know if moving sentries will require the Season Ticket. So, just wait and see, or do the memory-inefficient way. Not many great options, sorry ![]()
just because the season will end doesnât mean the new gamemode will come out immediatlyâŚ
google, the date has been delayed a few times now
Moving sentries will probably not be added to creative.
