Guide on sentries

Sentries are used a lot in any map in gimkit creative. So it’s really important you know what sentry is and how you they can make your map even better!

What is a sentry?

A sentry is a NPC you can use in gimkit creative to either be your enemy or your friend. According to gimkit’s description of a sentry a sentry is,

“An AI enemy that will attempt to knockout other players.”

Yeah. That. But a sentry is so much more now! They can be much more than just a silly gimkit description.

What are the basics of using a sentry?

A sentry isn’t very complicated. But it’s still important to understand how to use them.

  1. You can choose what their gadget is. A gadget is like the gadget they have. You can choose from Blasters, Evil Eyes, P.M.Ls, Pickaxes, Pixelators, Quantum Portals, Slingshots, Snowball Launchers, Wooden Wands, and Zappers. The level of the gadgets are Common, Uncommon, Rare, Epic, and Legendary.
  2. You can choose the sentry’s aim accuracy. This is how accurate it is when it fires. You can choose from Very Low, Low, Medium, High, Very High, and Max.
  3. You can choose the sentry’s fire rate. This is how often the sentry fires. You can choose from Super Slow, Very Slow, Slow, Medium, Fast, Very Fast, and Fastest.
  4. You can choose the sentry scale. That means how big the sentry is. The bigger the number, the bigger the sentry.
  5. You can choose the sentry’s health. Just like the player’s health, the bigger the number the more health it has.
  6. You can choose the sentry’s shield. Shield temporary protects the sentry from any health damage. Just like the sentry’s shield, the bigger the number the more shield it has.
  7. You can choose if the sentry has adaptive health. This increases the amount of shield and health the sentry has depending on the number of players in the game. You can choose from yes or no.
  8. You can choose the sentry’s skin. There are so many options it’s impossible to list them all. But, basically, you can choose from any skin available from the shop for players.
  9. You can choose what team the sentry is on. You can either choose the sentry team, which will automatically attack the players in the game. Or, you can choose another team. That means sentry’s can not attack players and attack other sentry’s on different teams.
  10. You can choose if the sentry can respawn. This means if the sentry can come back after it is knocked out. You can choose from yes or no.
  11. You can choose the sentry’s respawn duration. This is the amount of time after the sentry is knocked out that the sentry respawns.
  12. You can choose the sentry’s name. Just type in the name you want and it will show up when the sentry is knocked out.
  13. You can choose if the sentry drops anything when it’s knocked out. You can choose from yes or no.
  14. You can choose when the sentry’s knocked out what it’s transmitted on. You just type it in and you’re done.
  15. You can choose if the sentry is active when the game starts. You can choose from yes and no.
  16. You can choose if the sentry is activated when receiving on a certain channel. Just type in the channel and you’re done.
  17. You can choose if the sentry is deactivated when receiving on a certain channel. Just type in the channel and you’re done.
How can I keep a sentry from firing at me?

There are several ways to keep a sentry from firing at a player.

  1. Put wall under the sentry.
  2. Put the sentry on the same team as the players.
How can I make a sentry talk?

For season ticket users -
Use the dialogue box and wire it to the sentry.
For non-season ticket users -
There are steps into making a sentry talk.

  1. Get a sentry, pop-up, and a zone in devices.
  2. Put the zone around the sentry.
  3. Put in what you want the sentry to say in the pop-up.
  4. Wire the zone first and then the pop-up.
  5. Click player enters zone and open pop-up.
How can I make a sentry move on my map?

Although there is know way to make a sentry move, you can make several sentries and put them in a line slowly inching to where you want it to move.

How can I remove the sentry’s gadget?

You’ll need a prop of your choice, a sentry, and an item granter. Put the sentry near the prop. Make sure the prop is destroyable Wire the prop to the item granter. Click prop destroyed and grant item. Make the granter item the same gadget that the sentry has and have it grant -1 of the gadget.

Nice guide! But a word of advice, in the “How To Make My Sentry Talk?”, be sure to acknowledge the season ticket dialogue device that can also do this.

I read both of those but I felt like they didn’t cover enough. So, I put all my knowledge of sentries into this guide. I agree how it’s important to search before posting, I just felt like this covered that and even more.
