The answer is no. Wires are a visualization of a bunch of connections. I belive its something like this:

each device has an id and wires store the ID of the starting and ending device, then find the device from its id and run stuff

so no a longer wire wouldnt change anything since distance doesnt matter

i always though wires were visual channels, but they took more data because they are visual

wires are good if you just wanna quickly connect something.

except you can have more wires than channels. like if you want this and that to increment a counter

yeah but channels are just better. (honestly). channels are supported with block code + premium subscription for just a small price of 200 dollars a month for each block for each device.
