Balancing gadgets

For each gadget to be equal in strength, what damage multiplier would each gadget need to be?

I’m go ahead and suggest a method
play with some of the gadgets in your game see how good they are (including with/without boosts) and figure it out along the way a lot of games shift the balance constantly to make it fun but one thing I would def nerf would be speedboosts with portal gadget (people zooming around oneshotting people is a whole level of unfair lol)

you cant balance them its not possible they don’t have a same number of damage even with multiplier

Well maybe they are all different multiplier :thinking:

there might be 1 or 2 similar gadgets for damage but its not possible for evey one to deal for example 32 damage per shot

Hmm, that would be pretty difficult. Some gadgets do the same damage, but having everything the same would require precise math. The change to the damage boost device is more helpful now, but it would be a hassle.

don’t assume.
equal in strength can mean many things
like for example balancing is the process of handling how powerful a gadget is and how easy it is to use like say portal gadget is a one shot most of the time right but only has one piece of ammo? as to where a zapper has lower DMG but a lot of ammo
lets say we nerf the DMG of the portal gadget and up the DMG of the zapper now portal gadget isn’t as good anymore right? and zapper is higher in DMG but a key word here is ttk

(basically an easier way say this is ttk which factors in fire rate and DMG in this case) we can make them similar more in those terms and just get opinions on how easy the gadgets are to use and balance them that way

Also, the OP never stated what damage the gadgets have to equalize at. So, maybe somewhere around 60-100?

Well, it has to be around there to cope with the damage the quantum portal does. Getting the OP’s opinion is good though.

Update. The lowest the quantum portal can damage is 46. The lowest for the twister is 31.
