Wiki Catalog for Types of Platforming Jumps

look at the checkmark.

ok I edit. : )

There was a post recently about the name, and that was the consensus. Headhitters are completely different from ladder jumps.

How about upward zigzag neos

Alright. Mysz edited it back to headhitters, but he added ladder jumps as another name. I call it a headhitter because in Roblox, a headhitter is when you need to jump from a lower platform to a platform directly on top of you, and it’s the same concept in GKCP.

Okay. Here’s the post in case you were wondering:

The name ‘ladder jump’ won with a nice 69% of votes.

Quick question, is dropper considered as a type of jump technique?
I like cookies and sheep

Droppers currently aren’t good because there’s very low reaction time, and no way to increase it yet.
Also, they aren’t jumps, they’re falls.

what about thin studs

you can add that myszzie

Screenshot 2024-08-31 5.39.10 PM At least thin studs in Gimkit are a bit less RNG reliant…

What is a thin stud? I’m not very good at jump names…

great job on the guide!
my fave jumps would probably be the normal head hitters.

are there any wall-type jumps yet?

like, any easier ones…?
I could try and brainstorm/ make and test some jumps that could be added
if needed.

I came up with the idea for a harder jump:
wall jumps with the dynamic terrain-

you jump from bottom platform, and one-hit the wall block (x1, so dynamic, then regular terrain, ect ect)
to create a type of “wall” or “ladder” jump
it could also be done in the reverse order (going down)
finna test later because I kinda want to make a map

Hey Kat, how would you regenerate your jump?

That would be a cool idea

Would be very unique

there shouldn’t be a need to regen the 1x1 dynamic wall jump-

ima just show a demo (in gif) on how I thought of it

(edit: it’s better to double-jump into the 1x1)
-trying to put the gif in-

(I tried making a gif, but it’s too big
attempts: 5- not successful…)

I think those would be called “Screaming while your falling” jump.

Would speed jumps and wall jumps (sorry dumb name) be considered as actual types of jumping?

Speed jump: jumping with a speed multiplier on. used for long jumps

Wall jump: jumping on a wall where a zone is at, activating a barrier below the player
