As some of us know, Pizza Tower is a 2023 2D platform game created by indie developer, Tour De Pizza. It follows a pizza chef, Peppino Spaghetti, who must scale a tower to prevent the destruction of his pizzeria.
Pizza Tower is a game with many mechanics, and i’ll be dissecting each of them in this guide! Spoiler warning for if you haven’t played the game yet, as spoilers will be written below.

_ in names is to indicate a vowel missing, as these are the legitimate names of things and are not allowed, besides the curse in a level title of course
Mechanics
- Pizza Points - There are 2 types and 2 sizes of pizza points - small, big, before/during and during Pizza Time. Small and Big before/during pizza points are mushrooms, cheese, tomatoes, sausages, and pineapples, much like those of the toppin variety. Small during PT are clocks, and Big during PT are bells. Small items give 10 points, while big give 100.
- Toppins - there are 5 scattered throughout each level
- Pizza Time - when defeating the pillar john, pizza time starts and you have to run back to the start
- Gerome - when touched they follow you and you can unlock a treasure room, which contains a Secret Treasure worth 3,000 points. It is needed for a P-rank, the best rank in the game and most satisfying.
- Secret Eyes - they are eyes that warp you to a secret pink, usually challenging, part of the map. There are 3 eyes per map, and each takes advantage of the levels mechanics. They are also required for a P-rank.
- Lap Portal - after finishing Pizza Time, you can enter the portal, which gives you 3,000 points, but requires you to do Pizza Time again with no time bonus. Some mods add more laps after 2, such as Lap 3 instantly spawning Pizzaface to chase you the whole lap.
- Transformations - some levels, like Pizzascape, contain transformations that alter the player’s movements temporarily until touching a priest, which removes the ability and grants the player 500 points the first time.
- Combo - A little timer that begins when an enemy is defeated. It lasts 6.7 seconds, and various actions extend and shorten the timer. Defeating non-respawning enemies adds to the combo and fully refill it. Collecting pizza points add 1.1 seconds per one collected, first-time priest uses, toppin collects, Gerome and Secret Treasures, respawned enemies, hitting a gr__s_b_ll, and heaters refill the timer entirely. Taking damage subtracts 2.5 seconds each time. Getting caught by a toppin monster instantly ends your combo. The combo will be frozen while in small cutscenes, like doors, or while holding a gr__s_b_ll. When the combo ends, the player will receive points equivalent to (x^2 * 0.25) + 10x. Completing a level on lap 2 without losing a combo ever is required for a P-rank as well as the S-rank requirements. Reaching a certain combo gives the player a combo title, which are listed below.
Combo Titles
1 - Lame…
5 - Cheesy
10 - Not bad but not great either
15 - Getting somewhere!
20 - Nice, Good job
25 - Cheflike
30 - Brutal!
35 - Evil
40 - Unclean
45 - Disturbing
50 - Twisted
55- Psychotic
60 - Ill-willed
65 -Crushing
70 - Funny!
75 - Unfunny
Reaching 80 or more will add “very” to the beginning and restart back at Lame. So reaching a combo of 90 is “Very Not Bad But Not Great Either”. Reaching 160+, which is very difficult, does not add another very, except for in some mods.

Other
- knocking the john pillar starts pizza time, you only have a certain amount of time before Pizzaface spawns, typically around 3 minutes
- enemies spawn during pizza time and basically spat out
- if the timer runs out, Pizzaface spawns, who will follow your exact location, even going through walls, at about Mach 3 peppino speed.
- when you leave the level, it will tell you the rank, then the game ends
Are you editing?
- Yes
Details and Levels - No Longer needed as its above, but left here
There are a ton of different levels in Pizza Tower, the first one you come across while playing the game is John Gutter.
This is also the only level in the John Gutter Wall.
It consists of an underground city where Peppino has to reach the end of the map, and hit the Big John.
There is a timer of 2:35 which Peppino would have to use to escape before the map is destroyed by the Evil Pizza.
There are 20 levels in Pizza Tower, before reaching the top of the tower.
Characters and References
Peppino Spaghetti.
Theodore Noise (second variant/click alt to switch).
Noisette - Pay her to unlock a boss.
Pillar John - Hit him to activate pizza tower (time to escape).
Mini John - Punches you to slow you down from escaping.
Annoying Rat - Blocks different areas (can be removed by variants).
Toppins - Can be collected from every map, when collected at the end of the map some money is granted.
Pizzaface - Evil pizza at the top of the tower.
Pizzagranny- Assists you in the tutorial level.
Gerome - When collected, gives you access to a secret room.
Bosses
All bosses have two phases, where they refill their health and start doing something different. Most bosses contain a phase three of sorts that usually lacks a health refill
Pepperman - A self-obsessed artistic pepper that uses his art, dashes, and jumps against you. 10 health.
The Vigilante - A device(in this case)-wielding, hat-wearing Cheeseslime that has you on the Wanted List. 9 health.
The Noise - An annoying little TV man based off the Noid who is Peppino’s biggest rival, throws explodies and is an overall nuisance as a boss. 8 health.
The Doise - A ripoff of a ripoff that replaces the noise in Noise’s campaign. The same but he throws explosive rocks that take longer to explode. 8 health.
Fake Peppino - A doughy doppelganger who aims to make you his next meal. His attacks are all twisted versions of Peppino’s own moves, and can summon many clones to do his unclean (since when is “d_rty” blocked) work between hits. 6 health.
Pizzaface - The final boss of the tower. He drops enemies which must be chucked back at him to be stunned. He also slams the ground, spawning another enemy as well. Noise must hit him while he is stunned while doing the slam move. 8 health.
Pizzahead - The true final boss of the tower and controller of the robot Pizzaface. A nuisance and loves to taunt Peppino. 8 health.
Need more info about most of the bosses, as I’m tired of typing.
Transformations
Transformations are special abilities and moves given to the player in Pizza Tower upon certain interactions with enemies and objects.
-
Knight - Peppino transforms into a knight when picking up a fork, this gives him a strength and speed boost.
-
Ball - Peppino gets hit by a cheese ball, enveloping him in it and increasing his speed.
-
Firebutt - Peppino gets his bum set on fire, allowing him to fly and increasing his speed.
-
Firemouth - Peppino eats a flaming chicken, allowing him to fly and increasing his speed.
-
Ghost - Peppino gets jumpscared and turns him into a ghost, this allows him to fly and increases his speed.
There are quite a few more, but they aren’t here just yet
Enemies are now above, listed out. Feel free to fix later.
Now that we’ve got those out of the way, we’re going to actually make it in GKC.
Map
The maps consist of black and purplish tiles like so:
Using black tiles as the background is recommended.
Dash
Peppino is able to dash with a grab motion like this!
Here is a guide on how to do this:
A dash mechanic, with a cooldown! [🟧]
More information is still needed, so please contribute to the wiki if you can!
