A dash mechanic, with a cooldown! [🟧]

So this is this little thingamajobber I made. Lets you press a game overlay and increases your speed for a split second before returning to normal. It then has a cooldown of a few seconds. Here’s what you need:
-Game Overlay (Button)
-Game Overlay (Text)
-Speed Modifier x2
-Trigger x2
-Wire Repeater

  1. Make the Overlay Button increase your speed to your desired amount.

  2. Using a wire repeater, make the Overlay Button disable itself upon pressing.

  3. Make it so the Overlay Text appears as soon as you press the Overlay Button. Make sure it is in the same corner as the Button. It will not be hidden because of Step 2.

  4. Make it so the Overlay Button activates a trigger. Make it so this trigger sets your move speed back to normal. Then set the delay to however long you want. This is how long the speed boost will last. Me personally I set it to 0.5 seconds, for a quick, Ultrakill-like dash. However if you want it to be more of a sprint, like Fortnite, then make it a large number.

  5. Make another trigger! This is the dash cooldown. Set your delay time (must be larger than the time of the Step 4 trigger, unless you want it to be spammable), and make it so this trigger reactivates the Button Overlay and deactivates the Text Overlay.

And there you have it. A dash mechanic. Tell me if I didn’t clarify enough, I will fix it accordingly.

Everything looks okay, the only thing i’d say to improve this is to also talk about the wires (what is connected to what and what connection does what).

Lookin’ good!

The mechanics are cool, overall good guide, but maybe add some pictures in between the steps.

Very very helpful for what im doing thanks man.
Awesome guide!

Nice Guide This probably should not be :orange_square:
And needs some more pictures that explain every step.

You should try to use channels instead of wires. Otherwise, great guide!

Could you please add wire connection descriptions. The guide is extremely hard to follow @NuggetTheLobotomite

Wdym? I layer my terrain… and not just saying this out of immense afraidness (dude, gimkit censors “fe@r”?)

@NotYoyo idk if offended’s the word… i just didn’t know it was a joke and thought someone here just really didn’t like unlayered terrain.

Would this technically be the dash that was in the Mt. Everest Game? Nice that you recreated it and made a guide on it!

so i got the dash to work, but after you go back to normal speed, the game overlay button that says “dash” doesn’t come back
