The Internet... in Gimkit

Making the impossible, possible

Welcome, It’s been a while since I (@FusionLord ) posted anything useful and I am VERY proud to present to you The Internet—In Gimkit

*Cue the dramatic music *

DISCLAIMER - This guide is no where near done so please refrain from moving it or flagging it

An Introduction

I’ve spent the last 6 months offline planning and trying to execute the “internet”.

I got the idea from a Branzy video - We Built the Internet in Minecraft

As soon as I watched that video, an idea sparked into my brain: “What happens if I make the internet in Gimkit—a 2D game… yeah, nothing bad shoud happen.” Welp… here I am obsessing over this one little thing for six months

The Goal

So the plan is two have two different games (like codes) on the same map/world to be able to talk with each other. It should also be able to save the chat, have mini-games to play, and make accounts as well.

The Theory

The theory itself is pretty simple. We have multiple properties that save (like a save file) for login, chat history, and login details of the sort.

This WAS wonderfully explained in this guide How to Create a Save File For Your Players - A guide by wingwave

We would use sentries, one sided barriers, and a weap0n to make a clicking experience

Lastly there would be a GUI for it as well

A quick note:

The acctual guide will come soon.
I also need help making a keyboard, so if someone could help - It would be greatly appreciated.

this is quite an gigantic project. I’m not going to say its impossible as a 3d Text display is possible in gimkit so I’ll take my chances and say this isn’t out of the question. cant wait to see when its finished!

also @FusionLord I’m currently working on finding a memory efficient keyboard, so I’ll gladly help with that.

Oh, great! Thanks!

Is it an online learning day for anyone?

This unfortunately is not possible right now I believe.

save codes are a thing, you can use save codes to save properties

@FusionLord if it would help, the keyboard I was talking about has been made

That means that saving properties across plays wouldn’t really be possible, since adding humans into the mix introduces a chance of error. Also, even if I have a save code, I’d have to give it to my friend somehow, which kind of defeats the whole purpose.
