Sometimes when I try to select something the game selects something else, even though I’m clearly clicking a different item. If you reload the tab it normally fixes it but I decided to report this because it happens frequently and I was wondering if there is a permanent fix.
Are you on a mobile device? If so that is normal. GKC is not meant for mobile. Also welcome to the forum! Use this guide.

No, GKC is just buggy.
It’s a known problem
It will wear off quickly when it happens to me I just spam m and clicking on what I want to select; it helps

It also happens on other devices but it’s more common on mobile.
