Recurring Movement Bug

Whenever I press the left or right buttons and I let go, MY GIM KEEPS MOVING WHEN I’M NOT PRESSING ANYTHING, it’s like some kind of stick drift, this glitch on mobile by the way

I’ve had that problem too, just click the opposite way you’re going button (like if you’re going right click go left, and vice versa) once or twice and it should fix

It happens when you hold it down too long, and thinks your “mouse” aka your finger is still there pressing

For me its the opposite..
On my end at least you click on the direction you are going for once and then it would be solved
For me if you click the opposite button when the drift occurs, you just freeze in place

Sometimes it happens if I don’t press it too long

Ok then that’s a problem, cause it supposed to get fixed after reload and rejoin…[1]

  1. for me anyways ↩︎

gimkit isn’t really meant to be played on mobile. It’s usually more laggy.
i’ve experienced this bug before and i’ve used all of these techniques to fix it so it’s strange that it’s not working for you.

maybe try signing out of gimkit then signing back in?

I just found this on goggle, will this help?
The issue you’re experiencing, where the character continues moving after you release the directional buttons, is a type of controller drift, specifically a “stick drift” problem on a mobile device. This can happen due to various factors like dust or debris interfering with the joystick sensors or wear and tear on the controller components

  • Stick Drift:

Controller drift refers to the unintentional movement of a character or camera in a game, even when the player isn’t physically touching the controller.

  • Cause:

Dust or debris can get trapped under the joystick and cause it to move on its own. Over time, the internal components that detect joystick movement can wear out, leading to drift.

  • Mobile Context:

The same principles apply to mobile controllers. Virtual joysticks on your screen can also be affected by similar issues like dust or wear.

Troubleshooting and Solutions:

  1. 1. Check for Obstructions:

Make sure there’s no debris or foreign objects obstructing the virtual joystick on your screen.

  1. 2. Clean the Area:

If possible, try cleaning the area around the virtual joystick with a soft, dry cloth or a little bit of alcohol.

  1. 3. Reset or Restart:

A simple restart of the game or the mobile device might temporarily resolve the issue.

  1. 4. Adjust Sensitivity Settings:

Some games allow you to adjust the joystick sensitivity or deadzone. Increasing the deadzone can reduce the amount of movement the controller registers.

  1. 5. Contact Support:

If the problem persists, consider contacting the game developers or the mobile device manufacturer for further assistance.

If the Problem is Hardware Related:

  • Consider a New Controller:

If the problem is persistent and you suspect a hardware issue, you might need to consider replacing your controller or using a different input method.

  • Professional Repair:

If the drift is due to internal wear and tear, a professional repair might be necessary.

yeah yeah I know, this is like almost all about Xbox, ps, but some mobile stuff is on there to, I just copied your first post and pasted it into google

I haven’t tried that yet but I’m just going to do it

Nope it didn’t work :sob:

Try cleaning off your screen
Normally i just click the side that i’m going in and it works though

Try refreshing, that should work. I haven’t gotten this glitch personally, but refreshing seems to always work.

Ending the game sure is a good way to stop the gim from moving.

@Latte6723 and everyone else here, Gimkit is not supported for mobile. Unfortunately there’s rlly no way to fix these bugs. Also try searching up this topic before posting because lots of other people have ran into this issue.

Maybe your key is just stuck?
If it is just button mash it 100 times… That’s what I do and it works

This happens a lot ok? You just need to get used to it
All you need to do is to stop it (not sure if this has been said yet - not bothered to look :skull:) is to press the button the way you are moving and then move the other direction. It should stop it

Bro’s keyboard is now broken btw . time for you to get a new one :skull_and_crossbones:
