Welcome one, welcome all, to the checks notes fourth installment of the “A Miner’s Limbo” topic spree because I can’t think of ideas for my own game!!!
Ok SO here’s the rundown:
I published my game
I don’t have ideas for the second part of the game
And this is where you come in: ideas for the second part of game
Plot: Player is a miner that, in an elevator that would bring them to work, crashed into an older part of the mine. person does some parkour in cool looking map, falls into a trap, and part two kicks off when they find a small room that leads to an ancient city.
Objective: Please the spirit that’s communicating with you through red text by finding a “they”.
What they’re supposed to do: Do parkour and some simple puzzles to escape the underground and onto the surface to find the “they”.
Well I just played it, and I think I get the gist. Here’s some ideas to consider.
For starters, there’s an inscription (in game) that says “The rock holds answers…”, so I think that the “they” thé player needs to find could either be
a. A literal rock (don’t just make it some plain old rock, make it like a cool rock. Like a gem for something)
b. it could be a rock that has a scroll or a cool sword stuck in it
c. If the “they” you are talking about isn’t an artifact and actual a person/people, then it could be a person trapped in the mines/city or a group of people whom the spirit what’s you to, erm, oof (aka k!ll) because they’re disrupting the spirit’s eternal slumber or it has some unfinished business with them.
The word limbo means unfinished, so the spirit could be just guiding you to some sort of trap room or dungeon to get revenge against the miners.
The inscription could be written by someone other than the spirit, and the person could’ve hid an artifact somewhere in the mines to trap the spirit. So now the player has to find the artifact and seal the spirit away for good so the miners can work again.
That’s all I have for now, and I also want to say your game is very good and one of the more high-quality games I’ve seen. Only advice from me would be to hide the health bar (unless needed, like for example monsters will attack and you need to heal with a medkit or something) and update the game when you are done. This game is made of several parts and players will be waiting to play parts 2 & 3. But, they can’t because not only do they have to wait until you finish the map, they also have to wait until your map gets 1k plays (which, honestly no offense, takes a while if your map isn’t on trending or isn’t very popular). You should never base your entire game’s updates on plays. Even if you do, it’s better to set lower goals like 100 plays. Other than that, love the designs and I can’t wait to see part 2 and possibly 3!
Good luck with your map!
