Any ideas for decorating a mine?

So.. I just started making a fun story game set in a mine where you explore and do a itty bitty amount of parkour.

BUT I DIGRESS.

I have NO idea where to go with the game, decoration wise! I’ve got vines, old lanterns, all sorts of stuff, but I’m running out of ideas!!! Any help?

IMPORTANT

Summary

Also, this mine is abandoned. Should have added context.

Perhaps add some custom minecarts or broken tracks? Maybe have some lights that work and some don’t (or none of them could work). Custom cobwebs might help to get the “abandoned” vibe down. You can add ore (coal, iron, gold, etc) into the background or even custom gemstones. I would scatter tools like shovels and pickaxes around, but have them semi buried in the dirt considering its abandoned been there a long time (I don’t think Gimkit has pickaxes but I’m not sure, if not you can always make your own!). You can add a section where the mine is semi flooded, like a little waterfall coming down from the ceiling that drops into a big-ish puddle of water.

Oops that was kinda long sorry

@Skittyss Always taking the good ideas over here :smiling_face_with_sunglasses:, but you did get the vine idea!

Oh. I knew they had pickaxes the players could pick up as items, but I didn’t know it was also an item image (forgive me, I don’t look for pickaxe item images everyday). Good to know though

@Rainbow HOW DID YOU KNOW I ADDED A FLOODED AREA cough cough

But anyways, being for real this time, thanks! Solid ideas, will probably use them!

Add ores, stone structures, maybe a maze & little bugs
you can also use barrier art to make a nice view of a cliff

Hello, It’s me again! I went about with a dream to use your guys’ oh so helpful ideas, when I realized..
I have NO idea how to make like half of what you guys suggested. :expressionless:

…I guess I really just need help with: minecarts/tracks, cobwebs.

For cobwebs just use text and make it bigger or smaller.

You could have a section where the ceiling caved in and you have to find another way through, either the hole in the ceiling or maybe have them backtrack a LITTLE bit?

Hmm. @Longan, thanks for the idea. Oh, and welcome to the forums! AKA our dumpster fire.

I’m assuming you still need help with the carts, so I found a pretty solid guide on making 'em. It’s pre-purge, but it does have the RGB colors of the barriers, so I guess most of it can be figured out from the text only?

Hopefully it helps lol

Well, the easiest way to add in a cobweb is to place down a text box and use the spider web emoji::spider_web:

Another way you can make cobwebs is by using the custom shape tool! That way you can draw exactly what you want the cobweb to look like! (You can just search some on Google and redraw them to the best of your ability or make your own from scratch!).

I mean, I’m sure there are other ways. You can always use barriers, but those might be a little too thick. You can also use random objects to make some, however looking through the prop list, nothing really curves or gives off the cobweb shape. So I think the custom shape tool or just using the cobweb emoji will be your best bet

The game idea sounds great!
I’ll just give you a list of props you might add.

  • A rusted minecart with wooden signs (KEEP OUT)
  • Some crates, barrels, piles of rubble, perhaps rails for minecarts
  • Add glowing crystals or gems
  • Place tents or a campfire
  • Some more ideas might be cobwebs, dripping water, bones or fossils, and mushrooms and moss.
