How to make a Day/Night cycle in GKC (Ft. a Special Guest)

Introduction

Hello! have you ever wanted to make a day and night cycle in your GKC game? If so, well you came to the right place, if not, GET OU- (/j)
Let’s get started-

falling down stairs SFX

what the?

ouch… I gotta stop doing that. where even am I.

you entered my guide, to a day night cycle.

may I help out?

sure…

Materials

4 properties
1 trigger
1 lifecycle
1 game overlay
Lets begin!

The Guide itself :O

First off Place a lifecycle
and set it up like this
Screenshot 2024-12-17 8.24.09 AM
next place a trigger that has a trigger delay of 5 (this is the time till the next minute, we aren’t doing exact minute as server timeout would happen before you even got past one day :skull: )

everything you are saying is confusing me

How? its really simple, I forgot to ask who are you.

you forgot I barely know what Gimkit is… name is Cosmic by the way

ok, lets continue
then make it trigger when recieving on “Loop” and broadcast on “Loop” when triggered.
now make some block code like this

(I had to zoom out a bit to show the entire script)
next make these properties

“Time” Type: text Base Value: " "
“AM/PM” Type: text, Base Value: “PM”
“Minute” Type: number, Base Value: -1
“Minute” Type: number, Base Value: 6

now make a game overlay-

falling down stairs SFX

Cosmic… STOP!
anways, make a game overlay that is text, in the bottom right, that displays “6:00 PM”, visible on game start.
now make block code for that game overlay like this

and just like that you are done!

Conclusion

In conclusion, this can be used to make things like survival games, rogue-likes, and other things. I hope you enjoyed

birthday tommorrow, Im excited.

Wow! Great Guide @Fleet
Happy early b-day!

Also, @Kat_aronii
you just started an entire alter ego trend. I saw you made an alter ego, then I did one, then toothless then Ian, then fleet.

WHOOOPIE!!

Ingenious guide fleet, keep up the good work!

nice guide I give it a 10/3 But who’s the special guest?

Astral has a lot of friends now.

WHOOOPY!

yep, he loves friends.

Cosmic, infact is different, he’s an entirely different person (robot but still).
glad you enjoyed it :D

I just put my oc (Kade) chatting with kat :sob:

Yep, astral is different too. I just call our friends alter egos, even though they are different people.

Hey yeah! Im a person :sunglasses:

anyways, I have some suggestions,

  1. Can you use the seconds in game block? That might be a bit less code.

  2. Isn’t this just another timer guide?
but its based off of days…

  3. If my math is mathing, 24 minutes is one day right?

yeah fair, the goal of this guide was mainly to make one that’s more customizable, maybe I should have made that more clear.

  1. you most likely could, I chose to use Trigger delay to be more customizable.
  2. not really, if it was another timer guide, then it would be more accurate to the time
  3. most likely, I’m not going to calculate it myself doh.

oh good luck on your map

for the disembodied voice thing just do this > what you have to say
