How to ACTUALLY make a storm

NOTICE I AM EXPERIENCING A LOT OF LAG WHEN I DONT HAVE AS MUCH LAG I WILL INSERT SCREENSHOTS TO FURTHER HELP

Supplies

Zone, Damager, Reapeater, Wire

Step 1

Ok so place down your Zone and make Zone shapeCircle Optional Make the zone visible and game!

Step 2

Ok so next get your Damager and make it do 10 damage

Step 3

Ok so your almost done :slight_smile: now you need to get that Repeater and have it start on a channel of a name of your choosing, then make that channel the channel for in the Zone for the When Player leaves zone, transmit on tab.

Step 4

Ok 1 more step after this :smiley: you got this! Make the Channel for When player enters zone, transmit on tab anything you want (besides the one for when player leaves zone channel) and then go to the Repeater and make that same channel the one that stops it.

Step 5

FINAL STEP get a wire that connects the Damager and Repeater and make it Repeater runs taskDamage player

This is a pretty good guide except

  1. this guide has been made before, but with lasers (was before the damage device)
  2. STOP USING REPEATERS! (a trigger and wire repeater work way better and saves like 300 memory)
    here is a guide on how to make a better repeater
    Please Never Use Repeaters (and a guide on looping)

technically the guides are 2 different guides that have the same premise (and this guide would work better anyway because lasers damage based on movement if you stand still on a laser after walking into it, it just wont damage you)

this is pretty good but the title is a bit bait-y, when you think of “storm” you think of a moving damage area.

you can make it a moving storm, just you would need many zones, different damage devices if you want an increasing damage storm, and probs many different end-game zones (like one final zone at the top left, top right, bottom left, bottom right, and middle)

like you can have a if block seeing if you are withing so and so area, based off your coordinates, and then, send dmg message when u are inside so and so parameters

if you do some inequality stuff you can prob make a moving storm, you just wouldn’t be able to see it
