using the speed modifier device, go into the speed section and adjust the speed to be higher, or lower.
let me give an image example hold on
if you want to activate the boost when someone purchase it as an upgrade from a vending machine, connect it via channels or wires

You need to connect the speed modifier to something.

That being the game start or a trigger. Then when that trigger or game start is activated have a channel that it transmits and connects it to the speed modifier. If you want a dash ability, then have a button overlay that transmits to the speed modifier. Have a timer on that and the timer could be like 1 second and when it reaches zero, make it activate another speed modifier that changes the speed back to normal(1).
Change it from saying 1.00 to something higher or lower than that. And use a lifecycle if you want it to be set to that when something happens.
Do you want to buy it or do you want a button?
You may be using the wrong channel, or somethings going wrong with the channel, you could always use wires to compensate though, try wires.
