I need to know how to make a jumpscare for game i’m in the process of making.
Before you say “SeArCh BeForE yOu pOsT” I already did, none of the guides have pictures. It’s a bit complicated to follow the guides without pictures.
So, can someone help me with making a jumpscare system please? (With Pictures.)

idk about pictures, but…
Its pretty simple
a player enters a zone
zone device broadcasts on “scary”
jump scare activated on “scary”
will do pictures later.

Okay now that I reread it, that was probably the least helpful reply ever, but for extra information, the jump scare would be like some barrier art, or a custom shape device, etc
OR A JOB

maybe this’ll help
Now, I’m sure there are many guides on how to make different kinds of Jumpscares. However, I am making a horror game, which should come out soon because I just started today. Anyways, this Jumpscare uses a little more modern Gimkit Technology, as it uses the Camera Point device. (Plus it covers the whole screen, so you could use this for a flashbang if you so choose.) Let’s get into the build.
==Materials Needed:==
1 Camera Point
1 Camera View
1 Wire Repeater
1 Button (Although this could be …
or maybe not because it has no images…

The way i’d personally do it is make a somewhat cutscene like system
I made a quick guide for a previous topic
How to make a cutscene!
Materials
1 teleporter for each frame
1 wire repeater for each frame
1 cutscene frame for each, well, frame lol
Instructions
Set up however many frames you would like
Assign each frame a wire repeater and a teleporter
Wire each wire repeater together, each wire repeater teleports to it’s teleporter
Something like this
Notes
1.I know this seems rushed, that’s cuz it is
2.The button is just there to show that the cutscene starter, you may replace it
3.Don’t forgoet to teleport back after the cutscene is done
4.This mini guide is for pretty big animations to save on memeory
5.The barrier outlines are just there to show where the screens at
6.Don’t forget to set player’s speed to 0 then back to 1 after cutscene, can’t have them escape
Just switch each screen for a frame of the jumpscare and set the wire repeaters to go through the cutscene fairly quickly
Depends, how many frames per second would you like? Max 10

About how many would I need to have to make it look like it’s still and be on the players screen for like 5 seconds?
Barrier and props.

Ye it’ll work
but be prepared to make 40 different frames
if you want, lower fps look decent too
here’s a 2 fps animation

I’m ready. Drinks coffee
What do I do exactly? (I’m slow :P.)
Let’s just do 5 for now.

start by making a button/zone/ idc what you use to start the jumpscare
wire it to a teleporter and a string of 25 wire repeaters that each have their own teleporter
i’m lazy to wire them all up so i only did the first 2 :P
each teleporter will teleport into some sort of barrier/prop art that will cover the entire screen, those are your frames
each one will have slight differences like irl animation
I’m not actually gonna make any frames, so just assume the barrier outlines are frames
one last step to clean up any bugs
1.set the players speed 0 when the jumpscare starts, and back to 1 when it ends
2.Place one last wire repeater to set the speed to 1, but also to return the player where ever you want them
Tips
Use camera view if you want
Give each frame plenty of space
If you’re having trouble placing the teleporter in the same spot every time, use grid snap
Keep everything organized! you’re making 25 frames!
yea that’s all i have to say, sorry if it’s unclear, i made this in 10 minutes :|
btw i’m still here, feel free to interrogate me
