Hitbox, Wall, Border, Barrier, and Collision Research

Hi guys!
Gimkit creative is one of my favorite part of gimkit, and as a overly implusive, and too-smart-for-my-own-good type person, I am here to try to break it as much as possible.
Here is a forum post about research on how to get into, out of, through, a wall, barrier, or anything we are not supposed to go through.
I know that we already have topics on how to get through world borders, but this one is more of a collective place to share ideas, give theorys, chat (well, maybe not chat off topic) , and to BE NICE!!! Thanks for listening to me yap!

Current Breakthroughs

Breakthrough 1 :

Gimkit uses Rendering, not frame by frame.
Proof : If i make a lag machine outside cameraview, it doesnt lag. (though my lag machine is just a bunch of vending machines) And if u make trigger loop beside it, everything lags. Ty to @NoLife for expliaining stuff for me

Breakthrough 2

We got through both top down, and platformer borders.
using @InkyDarkBird 's method.

Breakthrough 3

I got wr for first person t ogo past 10000 on distance from waypooints.

Breakthrough 3.5

We got through the platformer world border.

Breakthrough 4

if you shove a item over halfway through the border, it will teleport out, but if it is not over half-way, it remains in the border

Breakthrough 5

the Platformer walls are 7 blocks thick, pretty thic, from the top left corner, you will fall to the bottom left.
Ty to @E-M-P-T-Y my friend irl for hosting platformer!

Breakthrough 5.1

We cant use checkpoints outside border

Credits :
@InkyDarkBird for the border breaking method. We might have got here without you, but probably not.
@G-Code549 Honestly, you just being here, chatting with us, and teaching us the barrier shoving method helped a bunch
@E-M-P-T-Y helped us by hosting the maps. he has sacraficed 5 dollars to the nobel cause of GIMKIT!!!
@NoNoWahoo for inspiring me to do this
@NoLife For helping with the rendering stuff.
@EveryoneElse for being here!

TL3s can’t make wikis, only @Blackhole927 can.

You could use this though.

TL3’s can only make their own post a wiki, sorry.

ik. u inspired me to do this.
i had free time, and i was consistently RAMMING MY GIMKIT CHARAACTER AGAISNT THE BORDER, then i made this guide.

Also, u guys know in minecraft there are chunkloaders?
basically, if i make a bunch of lag outside a camera view, it doesnt affect game, i want to be able to load that though.
any ideas anyone?

You want to load the thing that is not loaded?
Try a trigger clock that repeatedly turns on a camera point and turns it off, very quickly, viewing the lag machine. You’d see two things at once (if it goes over 60 fps).

no, thats not what i want.
yes its a good solution (smart!)
but im trying to load somthing without unloading the cam view

Which animation type does GKC use?
Frame-by-frame, or renders?

honestly, i dont even know the difference between both of thoses.
but playing around witha a lag machine accually is kinda fun
but very hazerdous

So far what i have found :
A delay between movments, and also there is a thing where the game is still playing the movements u inserted a couple seconds ago, but you can also insert commands while thos commands are executing, and they work too.

Gimkit seems to prioritize walls over players and everything else

Frame-by-frame: Keeps every visual, and show them when needed, usually laggy (unless you have those server machines lol)
Renders: Doesn’t show what you can’t see, basically showing it when you’re supposed to see it. Cleans up a lot of space. This would be a problem.

putting a

is probably the easiest thing to create out of the list you came up with, since GKC already allows you to make it.
If you press the ‘resize’ button while in the menu for a button, you’re able to resize the interactive area.

?

Anyways ty for telling me

erm acually   render is showing what you need (like in mc, if you cant see a mob farm, but a redstone contraption is working there, then it works, though im not sure if my statement is correct)

good point. im trying to see if i am stuck in a wall, can i interactn with stuff

Systems still work, you just can’t see it working.
And, according to Kurzgezagt, everything you don’t see doesn’t exist until you see them :exploding_head:

ok, so basically render is showing everything that u can see, and running things that needed to be run (like a trigger loop), while not running stuff that we dont need (like a vending machine)

while frame by frame is just running everything at once, and scrolling the background like in scratch

That’s exactly what those are.
Most likely Gimkit uses renders.

This is off-topic, but how do you actually do that? I just got TL3 and have been wondering in case I need to…

Three dots, wrench, Make Wiki.
Saw that on @Build-pleasse’s screen.

yeah, its more memory efficient, and reduces strain

Ok, thanks! I thought you were supposed to do it when you originally made the post… i’ll stop being off-topic now.
With the ‘moving inside walls’, I know you can move in a wall for a tiny bit just to get out if you spawn in there…Could that be fiddled with? (Also, why did you mark the thing about how Tl3s can make wikis as a solution?)
