FAQ About The Gimkit Awards, and answering your questions

(posting here since that topic is closed.)

couldn’t some people just use VPN’s though to just bypass that?

wait, is this off-topic-

edit: @yepimker fair enough lol, alright

Let’s not go into the complicated stuff.
I’m pretty sure the community have a solution for that.

Already stated this. If a particular candidate has an awfully suspicious amount of nominations, we will look into it. And again we are still actively figuring out our polling method. So, don’t worry about it (unless you’re part of the team ofc) because that’s an issue for us and not y’all.

I’m just going to level with you, that is the entire purpose of a FAQ. Like you just nailed down what the point is more or less word for word.

Questions being asked down here in replies are less minor ones that people needed specific clarification on, that generally wouldn’t be necessary for anyone else to ask.

Presumably yes, but it kind of depends. Some teams from last year had several of their members get nominated individually, so we wouldn’t let anyone from team win again, just for the sakes of being fair.

I should clarify that if one of the non-winning members in this hypothetical do get nominated for an individual project without help from their team, then they could be nominated in theory.

Very difficult subject, grand takeaway/TLDR is this:
Maybe. Just kinda depends.

as long as it follows gimkit’s discovery guidelines, and age-appropriate.

The best example i can give for game remake is my fnaf remake (five nights at spydecraft’s)

Or undertale remakes

lol.

anyways, a key thing to remember in remaking, you need to keep copyright in your mind, you cant make it exactly the same

ill leave this here for that

In truth were not getting money off it and were giving credit to them (hopefully)
its pretty much doing fan art as long as we do not get gain off our remakes we should be fine
I don’t think the remakes will go too deep into copyright rules and tags. Gimkit is supposed to be a fun game not a game battling copyright rules. we make the games we want to make and show our friends its a social friend type of game where we get to show our games to people. and technically Gimkit is still a small little thing in this big internet so were not well known

and no matter how much rules are set people will keep making remakes no matter the platform. it only gets aggressive if you copy someones game on the exact platform that game is on

Can the remake be a movie like home alone and does it have to be exactly like the game/movie if we can do a movie

do what you want and enjoy it, doesn’t have to be perfect just try your best

No I’m asking if the movie will count as a remake

No you should be fine, its just a movie in a video game, its only bad if its in the movie industry that you try to make home alone

if it’s a game, it can count as a remake,
but otherwise. no.

it’ll be considered fanart

Added a good few new things on the FAQ, go check those out!

And please, seriously, mention me if you asked a question here and didn’t get an answer. I am more then happy to answer your questions, I just need to know that you asked them.

I can look through the chat for you and find the ones you missed if needed

Apology in advance, because this has already been asked before, but I scrolled through the entire post and couldn’t find it.
So, basically, I could just have my map as-is, not doing anything else and it could be up for the Gimkit awards?
