3D, Kinda? Is it possible

you see it here folks 3 ish d in gimkit this is done by using a rhombus custom shape and roating and changing its color to make a 3d effect
I posted this to inform people about this as well as trying to push this further to make a game in the “3d”

maybe this could be a guide instead?
clearly no research is required since you already have an answer

you could perhaps add in your methods for making isometric art out of cubes (get more in depth)

how do you make your rhombus shape? | how would you select the colors of the sides? | how would one avoid making physically impossible shapes on accident?

that kind of ‘more in depth’
and tips and tricks for making more complicated shapes

also, it might be possible to really sell the illusion of 3d by adding ‘physics’ (sorta)
by putting teleporters on the edge of parts ‘dropping down’ like this v

I def think it would be cool if you could make a more in depth guide!

Copy maybe? folks Im not back.

Kinda, yeah.

I mean, if you already figured this out, do you really need “Is it possible” In the Name? Plus, this was already proven in the geometry guide.

If you wanted to see what you could do using 3D shapes, then that would be better.

Yes 15 character limit
Also this is in devices because the goal was to try to make 3d scenes and show people what they could do with them not to tell people how to make them

I think that 3D is possible from some POVs. I think that what you posted is sort of 2.5D.

is your goal in this post to figure out what kinds of 3d shapes can be made?
if so thats kinda a copy of the topic AstralLuke shared

This is more of a guide.

Maybe with that design try making a Q * Bert styled game.
(Q * bert is the name of the game, It’s not censored or anything.)

I could try to add the “physics” stuff if the OP told us how they made the rhombus custom shape

@Pineappleman how did you make the shape?

edit: the one problem with this is custom shape placement limit

Okay this is cool as heck, but did you try turning grid snap on?
also there was a similar topic to this before
Using 2.5D (Isometric) projection to emulate Don’t Look Down

Oh wait i just realized you were very involved in that topic lol

@AstralLuke are you coming back???

3d is definitely possible. I was working on a 3d map a while back, where I put the player in a confined space and put in triggers, which when the player walked over it changed their camera angle. I’m excited to see where this goes.

Fleetway where are you
