3 things you NEED to add to YOUR MAP!

This is the guide to make the best map in the game! These 3 ideas can add that finishing touch to your level!!!
Note: I know there are some other guides like this. I’ve checked about 75% of this type and haven’t seen ideas like this so I hope this is fine

Number 1: Waiting lobby

Have you ever entered a game and you spawn in a random place or at the start of the level? That isn’t fun especially if you are waiting for people to enter. If you have ever joined DLD, you can see that there is a small obby when you spawn in, that’s also the same in knockback. Whenever I enter and have to wait, I find it fun to jump around and that should be for every map. If you are currently creating a platformer map, why not create a small box with your map name and credits and if you want it to be extra cool, add a small obby to make it extra fun!!! If you are making a top-down, you can also do I credits box and why not a maze or a quiz or a laser maze?
If you are going to make this into your game then you must give me the season pass (don’t actually - it’s a joke - or is it?)(it is don’t worry :))

Number 2: Barrier that blocks areas

This is only for top-down games. Every game (especially outside ones) might have a path that you need to follow, like this:

This if fine, but what’s stopping you from just walking away? Barriers.
You can place barriers all around the path and then set the transparency to 0 (or 0.01) and that will create a invisible stopper from you endlessly running away (note: make sure the barrier is on collision or they could walk straight through it) this doesn’t have to be a path only, in (most) outside areas like a market, you can surround it in barriers so they can only shop, shop and shop!
If you are going to use this in your map, give me a cookkkiiieeeee :cookie::cookie::cookie:

Number 3: Secret rooms

Following the map can sometimes be boring as it’s the same thing again and again like difficulty charts. Adding a secret room now and then can be a more engaging way for people to play your level for longer. This can be done by finding a gold key and taking it to a secret button, like this:

Or maybe you have to find lots of numbers throughout the map and give them in order, like this:

There are lots of different ways you can add secrets, an invisible teleporter, going the opposite way to enter it, respawning which puts you in a room are just a few I will write down. Just be creative because that’s your only limit!
If you add this into your map, you must give me the exact same amount of money as in the pictures :dollar_banknote::dollar_banknote::dollar_banknote:

Wow if you read all of those, your ideas will spill out to create more and if you do add them, I bet it will make your level better then DLD and every other map created (except for the ones that also use these ideas, you’ll need to add more secret rooms then them to beat those )
I hope this will help you all to make you a better designer!

And just to finish it off, a small poll for you to do
Which of these are you going to use?

  • None of them
  • Number 1
  • Number 2
  • Number 3
  • ALL OF THEM

Have fun building! :hammer_and_wrench:

I’m not sure that every game should have a secret level.

but the guide is small but useful, you probably should add more than 3 facts

You can make a barrier fully invisible with a setting.

These are all ideas that are duplicated from other guides.

well maybe try harder next time, put more effort in. How hard you try is directly proportional to quality.

It’s not rude it’s honest.
