On the platformer I am making, I placed a few sentries on a platform above the ground. When I played the map to test, they kept falling through, onto the ground. I double checked, and I didn’t place them inside of the platform where they would clip through. I am confused.
so actually… this would go in the “bugs” category so pls change that and there are already topics on this so search before u post!
just put the sentry’s a gims height above the platform u want them on so they dont fall thru [1]
Edit: pls also remove the “platformer” tag bc thats for Guides and stuff…
bc their hitboxes might be colliding ↩︎
it is above the ground, and it still falls through. I did search.
could u maybe send a screenshot of where u want the sentry and where u are actually placing it?
Is the sentry’s hitbox entirely above the platform?
Also, what’s the platform made of? Terrain, a barrier, etc.
Yes, KorKor, I am always right, it is a crushing burden I must bear ![]()
l o l
Yeah, exactly as potat-toes said. This isn’t really a bug, as it’s usually because the sentry’s hitbox is in tandem with the hitbox of the barrier if there is one.
Try moving the sentry so that the editing box (its hitbox) around it isn’t touching the terrain.
this is literally what i said bro just move the sentry up a gims height so the hitboxes dont collide [1]
no one listens to me
↩︎
As I said, I am aware that if the hitbox collides with the terrain, it will fall through, which is why I made sure the hitbox wasn’t colliding with the terrain.
Could you try moving it up higher (I just want to see if the same thing happens) just like quite a bit
Are you sure that it’s high enough? From the screenshot you sent it looks too low–
can you send over a pic of what it looks like in editing mode.
Or just fling the sentry up as high as possible and let him f a l l
It was high enough. I figured it out. I had somehow made a copy of it that fell through in game.
ok so then pls mark a solution (i think u can in a “bugs” topic)
[1]
u still need to mark a solution on a post not ur own so we can close the topic…
PLS MARK MINE
! ↩︎
I don’t know if there was a solution. It was more just human error. I pressed a key without meaning to
Mark yourself as solution, though try not to make a habit of it (also try solving the problem harder before making a topic next time)
You aren’t, but if he figured out the solution then he should mark the solution on himself, also why I said not to make a habit of it
I got rid of the copy and moved it way higher up. It is still falling through
nvm it is broken again! ![]()
What is the wire connected to the sentry doing?
Also @Monkalicious_Monka67 you probably shouldn’t pressure the OP to mark your solution since you didn’t contribute anything to the current solution. Its also just really weird and might be offensive.
