I am making a space-themed platformer game where you go through each planet (from Mercury to Neptune (And possibly Pluto as a bonus planet)).

You could make so you can go through certain things like barriers on jupiter.

hmmm, it could be like you hop planet to planet! you can add some obstacles like flying diamonds (since there is a theory that it rains diamonds in neptune) and rotating moons since theres alot of moons that jupiter has (i think)

Maybe for the gas planets you could place bushes (like the dry bush) and tint them to the color of the planet to represent clouds of the planet you could step on? Jumping around and doing parkour on a gas planet is impossible anyway

I love that Jupiter idea! I had no idea what to do for the gas planets since none of them have any terrain lol

Lore: 3,000 years ago, during our highest peak of civilization. We meet our downfall. Our technology and inventions are destroyed to waste. The SSC has put you to travel through the solar system, with the best gear to find a new beginning place for them to start again. You are equipped with wondrous tools. Boots allowing you to walk on the gas giants. Heat proof shields that allows you to make it to the sun.

you can also make it so random solar flares will leave the sun at random times and the player has to dodge them or else the player gets burned!

Some real life applications: Oxygen is vital in space. Atomic structure and light years are explained, different gravitational pulls, supernovas and black holes could be cool art.

Maybe, in the year 2530, a famous space explorer has mysteriously gone missing. You have to follow a trail of clues to find them. Along the way you learn step-by-step about a groundbreaking discovery they have made about another race of creatures living in the fourth dimension and how to access and reach the higher dimensions.
Or,
Far, far in the future, when Earth is close to meeting its end from climate change, an unknown group of beings has put an item on each planet that ultimately helps humanity to create a wormhole (threaded with exotic matter, for astrophysics nerds) that leads to another sector of the universe, allowing humans to reach another solar system.
