They get trapped in a submarine animation, but the submarine breaks down and the player drowns. They think its good in the starting, but its actually bad.

for example, sentries randomly spawn and the player believes pressiing the button will kill them all and save themself.

Make it so it starts respawning you every 5.2 seconds if your button takes 5 seconds to press so that they have to press it instantly or respawn and try again.
Make it stop when they finally press the button.

more ideas:
black box being trapped for 2.5 mins while lasers can randomly show up
being drowned until the next disaster (1 wont drown)
5-10 sentries around the map with lots of health and shield, and have quantum portal/evil eye
things where you have to get into a box or you will melt in lava
someone gets god mode and has super speed, legendary evil eye/quantum portal
the map barely able to see and hallucinations of the real button not able to be pressed and hallucinations of other pressable buttons but it makes you a spectator and this thing ends after 2.5-5 mins
a bucket that scoops u up until you GO INTO THE BLENDER AND GET BLENDED AND YOU GET SWALLOWED BY A GIANT GIM AND HE GOES TO POOP AND YOU GO OUT OF HIS POOP-HOLE
