Okay it doesn’t work, because the trigger sets the “num” var to a text var, which means i cant increase its value.
I have to switch classes, i’ll update on this when i come back (like an hour or tomorrow)

It doesn’t work for a couple reasons:
entryCount never actually gets set. There should be an else on the if statement that sets entryCount to num - 1.num is never given a value. You should set variable num to get_property("num") at the start of the block. If you do that, it should work.
Hey guys I’ve been watching this post for a while, it’s quite intriguing.
While I’m not interested in the theory/broader planning of this, if y’all need any block coding for an idea you already have I can help, just give me an @.
…
Thanks for the offer. I know you know that this offer is kinda invalid now, but..
I was 110% burned out on this project. I did not really intend to work on this anymore after this post, but…
I think I will complete this for you, though. I guess as a retirement present. I think this could be a lasting tribute to HTH if you want it to be. No matter how long this project takes us, take my word, I will do it.
Sorry for the glaze wall.

Dang, maybe I shoulda lectured more about trust instead.
?
elaborate please (did i say something wrong? i kinda just wrote from the heart…)
@some_kid

Got the entry counter working. I figured the error out.
Okay so it was kind of a silly error but a trigger was setting “lib1” to the libraries contents.
The only problem is…
The property is actually named “libOne” ![]()
How do we make this multi-library?
That library searcher searches whatever string the variable library is set to.
You can have it get whatever property you want and insert it into library.
However, you’d also need to get the library size, which is stored in a separate trigger…
To do that, you’d set a property to the library you’re trying to search. Then, broadcast on the channel that triggers the mechanism that finds the library size, which then sets another property to the number of entries. Now that you have the number of entries stored in a property, you can use that number as the second parameter in the random number generator.
I discovered something else. That testing I did earlier didn’t work because of one small error- I had my variable setting wrong lol. It is fixed, and it works. Now I need it to make sense.
Oh, and merry christmas fellow gimkitters.
Uhh, I haven’t been able to work on this for a while now (Christmas break and all), so it may be a bit before I resume this topic.
For now, just in case this is my last reply to this topic, I’d like to thank everyone who has helped get this topic as far as it has.

Bump no progress no far ![]()
Maybe we should put this on pause
Ok sounds good.
The OP was suspended…
Oh, okay. I did not know this, I’m sure you’ll handle them well.
shaft’s gone. forever. he’s not coming back.
his final wish was for me to handle all his research topics, that’s why I’m saying that we should put this on pause.
you’re good
Boompppp!
Since it still is interesting?
Why you bump a paused project -_-
when will this project be unpaused and get worked on, anyways?
