I tried it out this might be the Structure of a MongoDB ObjectId. The first 8 characters are a timestamp. If we convert from hex to decimal and use that as a Unix time stamp (which probably would mean seconds since the creation of the Unix Epoch), then you’d get a date.

This seems to he the hexadecimal of the first 6 digits. 6821178
For 68153a

Im fascinated, Is this like a new option in block code since its on a overlay*

*overlay right?

68153a5a is the considered timestamp of an id generated today at around 4:32. After calculating, the said date was 4:38 (which is apparently good enough)

No, it’s just the testers aka Epi and me and everyone showing it for visual purposes.

So we were right and wrong

And this means we can make time related games with that ID but then there’s one problem. What’s the rest of the ID meaning?

I’ve gone to asking ai to find a pattern, I’ll get back to this thread shortly.

Current time PDT in gimkit headquarters
2:43 pm
England time where I created the game server.
10:30 something

The next 6 are Machine ID which I guess identifies the server. Those are the next 6 after the first 8 for timestamp. I’m assuming that might mean if we make on a different device in the same house those 6 digits might remain the same?

So like a MAC address or a Wi-Fi address

Perhaps, let me show the rest of it.

Here’s a table breaking it down.

Where’d you find that?

ChatGPT. I just asked them to decode it.

Maybe don’t trust it fully, I’ll see if I can find a website that’ll prove this is correct.

I mean it does look credible so

Well usually in A chatgpt case they have a decent chance of being correct. the only flaw is Bias but facts are more likely to come across as true

Oh, wow, Gemini isn’t as good as ChatGPT. I did still end up also with either seconds or milliseconds since the Unix epoch, so we might be on to something.

They got it.

In case you can’t tell, this has a timestamp of May 2, 2025 at 4:34 (pm?)

Where’d you find that? That’s actually crazy.

Edit: nevermind, found it.
