From what I see it’s because they want everyone to know their leaving?

Why did it ping me when you said that? Im not watching this. Anyway, yeah josh made an image purge recently so…

@Grits

Okay, back on topic now.

The thing is random worlds are tricky I was wondering if we do something like random chunks? What if we have the game memorize what chunk we enter and leave

that explains everything lol

What if to generate random worlds you use the same world, but the props have a chance to spawn each time the game is started? This would make it different each time, I think. It would save more memory, instead of making entirely different chunks.

True true.
If you want chunks, the biomes are like, 16 chunks, 9, or 4. Maybe 25.
Then the biome is randomized, and what chunks are also randomized.
AND NOT TERRAIN
MAYBE PROPS OR BARRIERS

yeah, and make it a super flat world, so you don’t have to randomize terrain(even though you can’t)

lets say we start with 3 biomes? forest desert and plains we make some chunks that are 2 biomes then we make some chunks that are all one biome and then randomize prop spawn. we would have to make the game like old games where its you walk to edge of screen and it takes you to a new screen or we have to have stuff past barriers and then use area sensors

Good point should we start just with a superflat world as the first thing? I would like to have a stong ui where we generate worlds but saving them would be hard with block breaking

Yeah, though that’s a lot of memory. Let’s just focus on chunks for now. So, they are entirely barriers and props, and a random biome spawns at always the same size, and yeah. We have chunks, and when entered zone for the chunk, the chunk is now set to that chunk.

oh btw I was planning on making this a platformer jsyk

Yeah. and it would take up tons of memory.

for the 2d aspect but if you think top down is better lmk

A Minecraft platformer?
What the sigma?

platformer is better for Minecraft, because of physics (jump, gravity, etc…). and you cant mine in top down.
