[Maps] The Fun and very simple way to Make Escape rooms!

Hiii yall! Before I start…PLEASE NO HATE COMMENTS!!

Read this before you start reading the guide.

I HATE when you all say "Too short’ “Boring” and “Easy”. Please don’t! I mostly make guides for newcomers, not ppl who play NONSTOP. So please don’t say anything mean.

Ah, yes…an escape room. A fun game that is easy to make, but at the same time… quite annoying. But, I’m here to show you how to make an easy, fun, and workable escape room!

Step 1: First, build a spawn place for ppl that spawn and the game hasn’t started (ofc)

Step 2: BACKSTORYY!! You need a fun and easy backstory that got you in the room in the first place and use a popup for when the game starts to activate the intro.

Backstory example

“Hello, Detective Gim! You have a new case…a missing gim named “Fair play”. The main suspects are found throughout the room levels. Good luck, gim…you’ll need to hurry before the suspect returns to his home!”

Step 3: Design! The room that you want has to be based on your backstory. And, you can add buttons to have messages and triggers to give more hints. Or, simply hide a key in a large room, and make an “End of Game Widget” that detects the item you are looking for to escape. (The design is up to u, so I won’t make one [copying])

If you want more than one level, you must have the same item and barriers until the final level, then you will need the end-of-game widget and a new item that only detects on the last part of the level.

(The image shows granting the key when found)

Lastly, it would be best if you had the property and that messages at the end of the game. Make it so it tracks an item, so it won’t be too hard to say.

Welp, that’s It guys! How hard is this (It’s pretty easy, the rating is up to u tho)

  • 1 (Easy)
  • 2
  • 3
  • 4
  • 5

The overall organizing is fine, but consider incorporating some images for more engaging presentation and better explanations to the readers.

I guess that’s okay…but it’s probably not good, due to the fact I didn’t add pictures. I have all my map slots full sooo…srry abt that. But yeah, it’s okay to rate.

. . .

When we rank, or say too easy, or not necessary it isn’t hate it’s constructive criticism. You weren’t here when it happened, but so many of our old, great users left because of the state forums was in. If you look at recently made posts it was nothing but thumbnail requests and boring, unnecessary guides. When we rank, or critique we are trying to make forums better, not hate on new forums users. Many of our older users (me, kosm0, bardy (bob_the_tomato) have just grown so tired of these unnecessary guides that when we critique it comes off blunt and rude.

That being said I’m supposed to be on vacation ._. but I’ll give this one rank before I go.

OMG I’m so trendy and preppy.

Explanation: 5/10
It’s not too hard so it doesn’t really need an explanation however, it is good practice to add one.

Rarity: 7/10
There are alot of escape room guides, but yours if fairly unique

Fun: 7/10
Maybe add some jokes, a special guests, etc.

Pictures: 0/10
Pictures are powerful! Even if you don’t have map slots, you can just open one of your current maps and add this stuff in.

Effort: 8/10
You put in effort into this guide. Add some pictures!

Spelling/Grammar: 8/10
Please (at least in guides) use “people” instead of “ppl”, “for” instead of “4”, etc. Since it’s a guide you want it to be easy to read.

Formatting: 9/10
Pretty good here! Maybe add some more bars (- - -)?

Overall: 6/10

Why is it so hard to leave for two weeks ._.

Nice guide, also

if you think your getting a hate comment, it isnt, we are just trying to give constructive criticism so you improve. if you do get a genuine hate comment though, you should proboblay flag it [1], anyways I’d honestly like for the steps to be more descriptive in things you can do, like how to make the escape for the room. and also maybe do more dropdowns for steps or do what '83 and I do a lot which is make

Big ol Text

like that to show when your in a new step

its done by doing # text here

and maybe some pictures but other than that nice job!

  1. off topic but for no reason at all I decided to caculate how long I have till regular, its like 9 days :P ↩︎

Don’t tell me what I already know…so many people said “Add pictures” so I did. :frowning:

Wait, what about step 1 and 2?

Because that is up to the person making it…I don’t want anyone thinking they have to copy me on those steps.

Still, how do you

???

So like, where they go during pre-game. They aren’t going to spawn at the escape room before the game starts, right?

Yeah, how would you do that?
you still have pictures to add

That’s still, again…

But whatever. I’ll add an example.

No, like how would make someone spawn in pre game? I’m not talking about the design, I’m asking how they would spawn there!
