Lore For my DnD game!

I’m trying to make a DnD-like rpg game, and i need lore

The name of the game is The Perilous Void

The small bit of lore I have that I want expanded upon:

A couple of years ago [1] a voidal plague swept over the world of Hollowspire. Various creatures like the Voidborne [2], the Neverbeasts [3], and the Faceless Ones.[4] You need to defeat their queen, Nyxoria, or their king, Xal’thor [5] and find the source of the void with a void key dropped by the king or queen.

  1. 8 to be exact ↩︎

  2. Lowest level monsters ↩︎

  3. mid level ↩︎

  4. not all of them ↩︎

  5. randomized at the start of the game ↩︎

Oblivara
Evernight

Why do YOU have to defeat them? Maybe start there. After that, what started the plague? Experiment? Some sort of plant/fungi? That could help with some of the lore.

I’m asking for people to come up with some lore for me, not helping me write lore, sorry!

If your making a D&D game, you should try to tie it in with the official lore of the game. I mean like, since this is in a void like realm, you could call it the underdark or the shadowfell or the abyss. also, you should add monsters native to those areas, like h00k horrors or nightwalkers or Gnolls. I like the ideas for the villains, but if you want to go even further, you could use bosses such as an elder brain or Lolth or Yeenoghu. What I’m saying is you should add more D&D elements in the game.

Also tying in Gimkit lore would be pretty sick

But ur asking us for lore. . .

i will try the gimkit lore, but i like the lore i have in general

its just an rpg

Thousands and thousands ago the voidal plague was made by a group of mages seeking change in the world. Unfortunately the plague went out of control and went berserk. A mage (who wasn’t one of the mages that made the plague) would later on seal it away. However, the seal would start to break over time. Fast forward to the present the seal would end up breaking and take over the minds of the queen and king seeking revenge because the royal family actually started with that one mage. The king and queen which are under the effects of mind control then started to mass manufacture it since when it took over their minds it was in a weak state. The void key that gets dropped is the key that locks the Void Eater. A device that was made by scientists ages ago to contain and get rid of the plague. Unfortunately the scientists never knew the location of the seal so it was never used and was then hidden in the castle.(The plague was also sealed hidden in the castle just no one noticed lol) The only reason why the king queen never used it was because it was lost to time and that they never believed in their ancestry. Now you the player has heard and believed that the plague was real so you set out on a journey to finish what the mage couldn’t finish himself. Later on when you sneak into the castle because you’ve heard rumors about the king and queen not being themselves you end up finding the Void Eater and after you beat the king and queen you get the key and use it on the Void Eater and it gets rid the plague bringing peace to the land and now you are acknowledged as a hero yippeeee the end =D

I’ll give this a go! @King_Thunder_Alt1 is gonna outdo me tho.

Not so long ago in a world exactly like ours because it was ours, a dark purple vortex appeared over the sky. Civilians gathered their families and ran. Law enforcement watched it. Militaries around the globe prepared themselves for an unnatural threat unlike anything we’d seen before.

It just hovered there for hours, spinning and emitting a low growl, just enough to make you uneasy- not scared. The longer it stayed though, the more people noticed small drops of sticky, purple goo dropping onto the ground. Once it hit the ground, it seemed to spread. Small purple patches of grass became fields of violet. Once the day was over? The vortex had just vanished. But the substance kept spreading. Cities near infected areas started quarantines as normal civilians became unrecognizable, putrid, decaying, four-legged beasts called the Voidborne. As it spread, they broke through barriers and military outposts and infected or k!lled innocent people. These unlucky souls were named the Faceless Ones. They don’t hesitate before attacking, driven mad by anger and sorrow.

Government officials couldn’t escape it either. They became larger than life Neverbeasts. Towering hulks of unstoppable force, power, and raw strength, accompanied by old guards who became Voidborne.

When all was said and done, cities had collapsed, nature was unrecognizable by sight, but recognizable by instinct as certain de@th, and the last of mankind huddled in bunkers hidden away in mountains or underground, terrified of what lurked outside their metal coffins.

The newest threat to arrive was this vortex’s creator, Queen Nyxoria/ King Xal’thor, as survivors called them. They controlled anything and everything that this Earth, now known as The Perilous Void, now was. They also held the void key: the one thing that could save humanity.

But one day, a brave soul (you) dared to exit outside their small fallacy of safety and hope to take back their home. The plan was simple, yet easier said then done: defeat their leader, take the fabled void key, and unlock a rumored chest within an old military stronghold defended by infected, and that held the power to re-transform Earth. This is where the story begins..

Summary

man wheres the feedbacks?
did everybody on this topic seriously go offline as soon as I posted

King strike me down if I’m lying, you’re the best at lore

Hmm…

That will not stop me from contesting.

Hooray it's in a dropdown

It was always a good day in Hollowspire. The children played with the animals, the animals played with the children. The adults were all spirited, even more so when the new shipments of supplies came in so they could party. Everyone loved their home deeply.

As time would have it, a misfortune soon befell the land. The skies grew darker by the day, plants slowly wilting, animals slowly decaying. The children were horrified. The adults were no longer cheerful. Search parties filled the doors of the North Entrance, only for half to return, sick, tired, hungry.
It wasn’t long until the land itself was wilting. The ground turned black and was no onger fertile. The animals grew scared of the people of Hollowspire. Things were bleak.

The first time anyone could recall the Voidborne was when a dog in the village had stopped eating. It couldn’t move, couldn’t eat, couldn’t drink, only wait. To wait for the corruption was to be sentenced to the underworld, where the soul was forced to watch the corpse break everything they loved. It was never deserved.
The village itself fell to this corruption, people freezing, warping, changing. These warped people came to be known as the Faceless, accompanied by the wild of the forests, the Neverbeasts.
Legions of the void were formed in a day. The brave never stood a chance to fight. Every survivor left had to hide.

You, who have studied the Void, know how to counter it. The sole savior of the people. The chosen one. Highly valued as a symbol of the hope, the rage, and the outroar of the people, you traveled with others. But they faltered to the Void like any other person. You travel alone.
Faced with the great burden of conquering the Void alone, you. Do you fall with the weight on your shoulders growing ever so quickly? Or do you rise, pushing off the debris, ready to rise from the ashes of a once beautiful civilization?

Pained is my back, tired is my neck; if you desire more stories, look to King’s deck.
