Lore based platformer ideas

Basically, I want ideas for a lore based [1] platformer.
the theme is a little kid’s own Gimkit creative platformer [2]
Ideas needed include: Lore, Mechanics, Level themes, and Items.
Things already planned are:

Mechanics
  • Hiding from something

  • Chase Scenes

  • Dialouge from the in-universe creator of the game
Level Themes
  • Grassy Level (the area where everything isn’t horror themed )
  • Dark Cave (some lore details, not that much)
  • A city (this is where lore will start to come clearer.)
  • A dark a twisted, distorted beyond comprehension, version of the first level… )(this is where the chase Scene happens)

  • A Dungeon [3]
Items
  • Keys, use these to open doors.
  • Notes, these tell you bits of the lore that the in-universe creator of the game, doesn’t want to talk about…
Lore

Lore so far is a game created by a 12 year old, that after an incident, started to influence his mind into changing the game, until he finally accepted it.

If you are suggesting an item the format should be

Name: Name of the item
Function: what the item does.

if your suggesting a level theme just tell me what the level is based around.

if your suggesting pieces of lore just tell me what the lore is based on and what level the player finds out about it in (NOTE: MAKE SURE TO SPOILER THE LORE IN CASE I END UP GOING WITH IT, I want to try to make this a unique expierence for others, so I want to keep as much players as I can from knowing the lore before playing thee game.

If you are suggesting a mechanic here’s the format:

Name: name of the mechanic
How the mechanic works: Pretty self explanatory, if you don't understand this I have questions for you.

Thank you!!!

  1. Horror ↩︎

  2. that slowly gets changed to reflect their tramua, until they finally move on from it, and accept that it wasn’t their fault ↩︎

  3. You need to collect 5 keys to open a door and finally overcome the tramua ↩︎

don’t worry i’ll make sure they fit the community guidelines, I feel like it will be a fun challenge to try to make a decently scary horror game, that still is allowed on GKC discovery.

By the way this is kind of minor but all the spoilers in this topic make it fairly hard to read, especially because things are re-spoiled if you leave and reenter the topic. Could you remove some?

Also is there barrier art in this game, or is like official game mode styled?

Name: Brain CReater
How the mechanic works: When the player "thinks" (could be made using an overlay) of their horrible past, whatever they are thinking about appears later in the game.

i’ll try to remove some spoilers (maybe try and replace them for footnotes so its easier to read).

most likely going to be barrier art, since this is a kid’s own Gimkit creative map, it isn’t meant to be like an offcial game mode that got all [1]

  1. spooky ↩︎

Name: Pop-up of the past
How the mechanic works: so randomly in the game a jump scare or effect of a past monster will show or happen

Name : No time think (I know very creative of me.)
How the mechanic works , if a player doesn’t constantly move . they start to think of their past. This makes them start go into a flashback where the player must relive the traumatic past.

ight these are some nice ideas, although I’d still like more (as most of these are just remembering when really what I meant by mechanic was what the player interacts with in the level)

What is the trauma the little guy is dealing with?

Name: Insanity meter
How the mechanic works: Certain areas make an insanity meter show up, if you stay in them for too long you go insane and KO?

You could incorporate this into my idea maybe?

Name: illusion
How the mechanic works: where a monster(or creature) gets cloned 20-50 times and when you run into it it vanishes until you hit the right one and get a prize

is this one fine?

I think I need to address something, the player is NOT the in universe creator of the game, he is just a player. (which is why I’m trying to not rely heavly on flashbacks, as it wouldn’t make sense for a player who isn’t the games creator to have those). also I’m trying to keep what the tramua the creator is dealing with implied, just so that its more vague and left to the players interpretation, with some hints to point them in the correct direction. (2 reasons for this, one is that I feel that lore is more fun like this, and 2, so the game still follows the content guidelines)
