Is there an easy way to do this or is it imposible

The only way I’d imagine for this to work is using a text device and a Player Coordinates device.

You’d use the Text device to pose as your darkness and you’d have to make a system to change the text according to the player’s position to simulate lighting an area.

You can also just create a grid of zones and top layer barriers that disappear when the player is in a particular zone. It’s not exactly the prettiest solution but I guess it’s a simpler and potentially a more memory efficient way to make a sort of “flashlight”.
