Ideas for creating a intense survival game

I want to make a intense survival game, with maybe like a abandoned city, and a old subway, but I need some help with the story line, and what all I should add in. I want it to be eerie and a bit mysterious. any ideas? oh and I’m making all this in top down mode.

Maybe a small, hidden group of survivors who operate in the shadows with their own agenda, leaving clues or warnings.

I like that idea what do you mean about agenda though?

They are doing their own goals/tasks.

Maybe like after an apocalypse of a virus.
The survivors live in the city and have to find food and materials.
Players can build there own bases and teams and fight for survival, there’s also enemy’s (could be sentrys or other players) that try to eliminate them.

Tasks could be find a way out the city or a cure.

that’s a really good idea- is there a way to like recreate parts of the apocalypse game? like where the enimeis are always coming towards you?

Its not possible… well it is using animation but the damage wouldn’t carry on and it would use up most of your maps memory.

And I don’t think gimkit would add this as there would be lots of bugs.

Oops, didn’t mean energy, I meant memory.

good point- well that definitely would be a cool thing if gimkit could add that kind of stuff in gimkit creative

I don’t know if it helps, but I do have the season ticket

A great concept for your game could revolve around an apocalypse. The city wasn’t destroyed by a bang but was slowly enveloped by a creeping mist that makes gims mad and have bad hallucinations. The population didn’t run, they just didn’t get mutated into hushed, distorted figures yet. Your gim is a scientist or explorer who ventures back into the abandoned city and its subway to discover the mist’s origin, believing a unique frequency of sound might disperse it. The story could unfold mainly through environmental clues. You find no written notes or direct dialogue. Instead, you piece together what happened by observing the surreal scenes left behind: a family of gims sitting at a dinner table, perfectly preserved but somehow wrong; a news broadcast on a loop discussing an “atmospheric anomaly”, and strange, almost artistic patterns drawn on the subway walls by those who lingered too long. The mystery is the main drive. The gameplay should force intense resource management and emphasize quiet movement. Scarcity is key—ammunition is extremely rare, so combat is a desperate last resort. You should have to improvise tools and gadgets from junk. The primary threats are creatures that hunt based on sound or psychic presence, not sight, making stealth essential. You have to monitor your characters sanity, which depletes when exposed to the mist or witnessing unsettling events, leading to visual distortions and auditory halllucinations that make navigation difficult. The unique features of the city and subway system can be utilized for both plot and gameplay. The main part of the city is exposed to the mist, making venturing there a high-risk move for vital supplies. The subway system is a dark, enclosed sanctuary from the mist but a dangerous labyrinth filled with the quiet, unsettling residents who have adapted to the darkness. The gim must use the subway to travel between different districts of the city, using a small, secure base you can fortify as a central hub. The plot twist could be that the “cure” the protagonist seeks is not a scientific solution but a personal one, linked to a trauma from their past that the mist forces them to confront, giving the game a psychological depth.
Is this what you meant by an idea? I kind of made a story lmaoooo

Maybe you could add special ability’s or a health regeneration system!
You may check out the forsaken, doors, and Brawl stars guides.
(There really helpful if you want to add ability’s to your game)

Also if you run out of reply’s edit your past comments by clicking the little pencell icon beside them!

is it possible to add in AI charecters? I know its a stretch… but it would be really cool

Do you mean NPC’s that can speak and that type of stuff?

ya- but like chatgpt like a REAL AI

Now that’s to far… its not possible yet, gimkit creative isn’t capable of running/making something like that yet.
