So i am making a complex battle royale, and i want to make a new character, i want to make it a tank sort of thing, and i would like ability suggestions, i am making at least 3 abilities for him, passives also work, just be creative
Ideas used: aoe attack
Teleport to a domain with sentries to hit you
Teleport all other players to random locations
Heal
Get lots of gadgets
Charge with damage on the way
Trap that explodes when other players cone in
Block damage for a while
Damage boost
Speed boost
Maybe he slows everyone down, he gets x2 hp (or more),and he can boost himself with x2 speed for five seconds (but there’s a large cool-down)
Those are okay but i want it to be like REALLY creative, like i made it so that he regenerates rapidly, but when he attacks he takes damage, so be creative with nonpassive abilities, trust me, i can make most of them
The tank could have way more health than other characters (2x or more) and could move slower to make it more balanced. For abilities you could:
1. Make it so that for like 5 seconds they take 60% less damage but they can’t move for those 5 seconds which can be used to absorb damage for teammates (if you don’t have teammates then you could allow them to move while this ability is active)
2. Have a big ground slam sort of ability where anybody in a certain radius would take like 10-20 damage (idk how you would do this)
3. This is a passive ability where the tank will take less damage the less health they have (ex. if they have half health you would take 5-10% less health and if they were below 25% health they could take 20% less damage)
I can do number two, but unfortunately 1 and 3 are physically gimpossible

If he is a tank, I think a good idea could be he moves slow but does more damage, and has more health.

And if none of those (in total, both tags combined) 2120 topics really matched what you want, then oh boy, aren’t you picky! And if that is the case, here’s some ability ideas.
- You want your tank characters to move slow.Why, it’s OP Game Roles 101!
- But, to even out this poor fella goin 0.5 miles per hour, toss in some extra health, since he’ll be stuck in the battle lots, and might be strugglin’ to get his sorry self outta there quickly.
- Quick firing, weak gadgets are always better than a slow firing, but OP gadget for tanks!
So to clarify im trying to find ABILITIES not gadgets or stats
right-o! My apologies, kinda got sidetracked. The irony, huh?
- Speed boost for a bit, but you cant fire while it’s enabled
- lose 50% of health but refill entire shield and refill gadget
- Move slower but more stronger gadget for an amount of time
Like im mainly looking for abilities that actually deal damage by itself, like what coderguy’s second idea, that kind of thing

So i was expecting abilities mostly like spells not like stats,(be creative! I can make most things not related to teleporting player to player or health detection or damage reduction, those are gimpossible)
I have a few.
- He can activate a lock-down where everyone has one minute to escape a certain side of the wall.
- He can activate a wall splitting two different sections of the map.
Expand on 1, 2 is WAY too OP,3 also, 4 is improbable because everyone will be respawned on team change
Just no instant respawns unless it is very hard to achieve
the tank gets triple damage and 4x speed for a limited amount of time while these abilities are not active the player will have health regen.
- Expand on how they are meant to escape and what happens if they dont.
- This doesnt have that much of a purpose if 1 isnt good enough
