I wanna create Stardew valley but without running out of memory

You could also make a section of the game, like parts of the map

Holy month-ago bump

What stuff do you still need help with?
Also, are you making the different farm options? I could prolly help with the different mechanics for each.

Okay this is a guess so don’t take me too seriously lol

Have a number property for each <3 value on each character
On every interaction with each character, the <3 value increases/decreases based on the choices you made during the convo
(So if you made a good choice, the option transmits on “good choice made” or something while still continuing the conversation)
Giving them a gift increases the <3
If the value is at a certain level, they’ll accept a marriage proposition

Stardew has this huge thing where you lose energy based on what tasks you do, time passes, you can pass out from lack of energy, and bed replenishes energy

It’s just gonna be a scaled down standard farm. I have the farm handled, but I don’t know how I would make the  system work.

Make stationary npcs and turn friendships into a clicking simulator

Yeah, but all the NPC’s with buildable relationships move around the valley

Mostly mechanics for NPC’s

Make a trigger loop that activates every minute or two, it activates a randomizer that moves a specific NPC to a few set areas. For memory reasons there would only be maybe 4-5 spots an NPC can be and they are relatively close together so they don’t teleport long distances.

Then its just the basic dialogue + NPC device things that are connected to properties so you can keep track.

Some basic ahh information about the friendship system…
:expressionless:

Basic ahh information

Okay… so that’s 16 friendship NPCs. They have 10 hearts. There are 2500 points in total. Each heart represents 250 points.
When NPC reaches 2, 4, 6, 8, 10 hearts then cutscenes and storylines will happen.
um… so every day you get to talk one pop-up to someone. Which increases by 20 points.
the day on Stardew valley starts on Monday of Spring Year 1.

The default setting will be one/two popups for each person and then it will be deactivated for the remaining day.
then for the next day the popup will turn on from a channel saying something likeTuesday Spring Year1 then Wednesday Spring Year1. Maybe something else, idk it’s really your choice.
For the points maybe you can do a system like after the player talks to the NPC the pop-up sends a signal to a number property for that specific NPC which adds 20 points. If they don’t talk to the NPC then the pop-up will send -5 points to the pop-up.
The Gift system won’t really work because of some mechanics that aren’t in the game, it will take up too much memory. so cross that out.
But through talking to the NPC you have to hit some few points.
Which are these:

  • The NPC’s birthday so that the player can wish them a happy birthday!
  • The NPC’s job so you know which related rewards you can get from getting 10 hearts.
  • The NPC’s personalities and opinions so you make the right decision while communicating with them.
side note

So looking at the previous posts, All this is gonna be a lot of memory.
I suggest cutting down on the details and some NPC’s. look at my previous post…

Anyway’s that’s pretty much it…

  1. why did I quote this? I should’ve just pinged u… ↩︎

It’s more of a zone in stardew, that opens a popup asking if u want to sleep through the night. I just need to kno how to make it so sleeping affects the world and time. also I need help with the 2:00 AM rule, and an overlay displaying time

@Kormorant so u have’ny seen 1.6? DUUUDE

I’m so glad there’s another stardew player here  i would send a pic of my year 8 farm but im too lazy rn and yall probably dont care

idk what to say tho I don’t have this kind of experience lollll go0odluck on ur game tho
i guess…look at stardew valley wiki for some info?

i mean im here for the stardew valley end but not the gimkit end lolll ping me if u need anything

also you might have to tone down some of the stardew valley mechanics bc gimkit says it has to be appropriate for ages 6+ but stardew has some signs of alcoholism and even smoking at times dont want to get kids into that (shane/pam and any beer/wine products) depression/desire of self harm (shane 6-heart) whatever happened to grandpa, and romance (dating + marriage/breakup + divorce) too

but maybe removng some of this stuff could help with memory too!

@Immortal_Cap

generally since its a help post its better for the creater @Reaper_leviathan to bump bc pretty much the only reason a help topic would be bumped is if the creator still needs help so its not necessary for you to bump this

however reaper did like the post so i guess its okay

Cap is one of the collaberators, its fine. how would enemies such as slimes, bats and mummies work?
