How to make the ground light up beneath you! [Mini-Guide šŸ¤]

Hello, Forumers!

Today I have a guide for you on how to make the ground light up when you step on it, like in the Billie Jean music video!:red_square: :orange_square: :yellow_square: :green_square: :blue_square: :purple_square: [1]
Also, please don’t jump at me, I have searched and didn’t see any guides on this. :+1:

Disclaimer 1: This system gets less accurate the longer you have it going on for.

Disclaimer 2: This only works if you are all the way against the left side, unless you add onto the block code a bit.
It’s easy! Just swap out the x position block in the blocks of the player coordinates device to this:

Player's x Position - (however far you are from the edge)

Onto the Guide!

Ingredients

1 Player Coordinates device
x + 1 Barriers [2]

Steps
Prerequisites (Not Required)

Go to Editing Options in settings, then turn on grid snap to 64.

Also, turn on Show Grid.

Step 1: The Player Coordinates!

Grab a Player Coordinates Device, then keep every setting[3] the exact same as it already was!

Then, go to Blocks and make a block that looks like this:

Now, you are done with this step! [4]

Step 2: the Barriers!

First, add a black barrier with an alpha of 1 and no border stretching up however many tiles up you want it to be.
I’m making mine 20 blocks tall and x blocks wide.

Add another barrier, with these settings:

The color can be whatever color you want your light block to be.
Put this barrier at this place in relation to the black barrier:

Now, copy that over as many times as you can on your black barrier!
When you copy it over, change the 1 in the Activate When Receiving On to 2, on the next 3, etc. etc., etc.
Also try to change the color you use on each one!

From @forberbeam that I used for the block code and main idea.

This is also possible in top-down!

I WILL ADD A GIF THIS WEEKEND!

:smiling_face_with_horns: am making it so when a player steps on an area, a barrier lights up beneath them, like in Michael Jackson’s Billie Jean music video.

THIS IS ALSO POSSIBLE IN TOP-DOWN, I JUST MADE IT IN PLATFORMER

I guess you could… But, the problem is making the fading because that would take at least one trigger/wire repeater chain per block.

BUT, @ZAPPY_ZAPTOS, I CAN TRY TO MAKE IT!

grr… I don’t like your quote editing… here you go just for that… :smiling_face_with_horns:

also, hear me out
if you used the full system from the original topic
and made a couple barriers make it look like the barrier just fades away [1]

could you make a custom trail?

true

you can make it whatever you want!
Thats the fun part, if you make all of them white its all white but you can change the color up
also I’ll join the padlet later I cant access it on my school computer

family computer. I have my own account.

if you have a ton of randomizers
@Reaper_leviathan don’t forget having to have a barrier for each color, on each square.

Like can I make it so it turns a random color? and when it disappears can I make a different color?

Oh. I’d run out of memo then. THX!
