How do you make a game where you have a limited amount of players?

I just jo.in in another tab to test out multiplayer games

Okay, @Turtle. For the last image it’s a trigger? But what do you with the lifecycle?

When the event happens (game start), wire it to the trigger to trigger. (i think.)

@Turtle, I did what you said but it isn’t working yet.

How do you make someone a spectator after the game starts?

With a team switcher. The switcher happens when the game starts, and it switches to spectator.

Can you explain better?

So, the way to do this is on game start, the team switcher switches people to the spectator team.

@BrownSugarAlien, have you tried mine?

Do you need to have these many people on each team when the game starts?

Alright, so I’m back (finally finished dinner lol) and I’m happy to finish helping out. Here’s the full tutorial:
``
Zone over player spawn pad, make sure that it only covers a bit so that it can’t be retriggered
Zone broadcasts on Increase when player enters zone
Counter increases by one on channel Increase
Counter updates the property Players
Place a property, name it players and set it to number
Place a lifecycle, set it to trigger on game start and broadcast on channel Check
Place a trigger, set it to have a delay of 0.5 seconds. It will trigger on Check.
In the trigger settings, create a new block, set to when triggered. It will have the block code from before, with the number set to 4 instead of 6.
Then, teleport the players to the beginning of the game on channel ‘Start”, from the block code.
On the channel ‘Don’t Start”, it will end the game- place an end game widget set to end the game on ‘Don’ start’. This makes it so you have to have four or less players to start the game, and if you don’t, then the game will end and be unplayable. If you want four players on each team instead, then the number of players should be eight.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t a perfect solution. The host will still be able to start the game with the wrong amount of players, just as soon as the game begins the game will end. So make sure it says in the lobby (or pre-game) that you require there to be x amount of players to start the game, otherwise, the game ends.

How long did the mini-guide take you?

Ten minutes exactly lol.

Well, you can attach a lifecycle to player joins late, then it’ll increase the counter and then it will do a modified version of the first check. This way, the player can still participate if there are the right amount of players, but they will be set to spectator if not. So the block code will look like this:

So if there’s still space, they will be allows into the game via channel allow, and if not, use a team switcher to set them to spectate.

It turns out I didn’t need to do this. All I needed to do was to figure out how to make a person a spectator.

:flushed:

But @Turtle, how do you make someone a spectator?
