How do you make a counter count how many times a button has been pressed?

It seems so simple, but I can’t get it! I have tried wires, but that didn’t work.

Trying wiring
Button (button pressed) → Counter (increment counter.

If you need any further assistance, please specify and elaborate on what you need help on.

That’s what I tried, but it didn’t work. . .

Can you take a screenshot of what you did?

Please take a screenshot of the wiring. By the way, if the wire has a red/orange line running through it, it won’t work. The line inside of it must be green.

  1. Are you sure that you’re using the correct Device?
  2. If yes, did you pick the correct option for the wiring?
  3. If yes to all, please show a screenshot of it.

Oh, and it is green.

Try again and see what happens.
You could also send a GIF or video of you trying it, that will help.

You could use a trigger to update a property instead, since this doesn’t seem to be working.
A bit more memory usage tho.
Remember to reset your counter before incrementing maybe?

Have you just tried having the button transmit on a channel that inramets the counter?

They mentioned that they did in fact do that in the 3rd post?
It didn’t work I’m guessing?

just saying it again with a bit of an easier way to understand, yk pics and stuff (worth a try haha)

Yes, I tried that. . .

put down button, in the buttons settings it should say button pressed transmit on a channel… so put something there like cool. Then you place down a counter then in settings it should say increase counter when receiving on… so put the same channel you put on button like cool.
Also i just noticed in your wires you button pressed isnt green so click on that.
