Yep. Along with the maze idea, maybe make it a side quest where you can get a legendary ingredient and it leads to a happy birthday message.

Yeah tell them to test out your new game, and when he beats doing all the minigames (Cooking, maze, etc.) it gives him a keycard for each minigame he completes which opens a secret birthday room for him. (or something along those lines)
