Hi everyone!
So that little no advertising rule is pretty unclear so I want to start with saying:
THIS IS NOT MEANT TO BE ADVERTISING.
I’m making a maze game with a mini story behind it. I’m not really good with devices and stuff, so creating even a basic cutscene has been kind of hard. There are some kinks involving how I did it; I struggle with the organization and understanding of all the mechanics. If anyone has any tips with organizing devices, channels, and everything else- it would be much obliged.
THE CUTSCENE
So I’m trying to get a mini cutscene where when the game begins, you spawn in a mini cornfield . From there, a few lines of dialogue between you and the silence take place . Then, the camera point shifts behind you where a weaponless sentry spawns with a hammer (prop) . After you realize you’re being watched, you will speak and then the game begins- teleporting you to the maze .
PROBLEMS
- The sentry spawns attacking you. I’m thinking about just ignoring this lol.
- How do I make a cooldown EASILY without having 1000000 wires…if it’s possible
- How should I go about making the realization dialogue with the camera angle and cooldown?
I’m assuming that it’s not allowed for other people to build my game to help me edit- but if it’s not yk but i highly doubt womp
At bottom is a section of the first maze level. Any ideas on how to hint at where the end of it is without using a waypoint are welcomed (the end is out of zoom i can’t fit it in frame)
And how complicated would it be to have an npc pop up at random? I’m assuming it would be hard- complicated tutorials are not my best friend but I’m somewhat able to.
THANK YOU! (and happy black friday)
