Hazardous Environment Logic System 7/10 (oxygen system stated in guide with a few more uses for the system)

This is how you can add a Hazardous Environment to your gimkit maps. (READ DISCLAIMER FIRST)

Disclaimer

Yes this is something that a guide has been made to create. HOWEVER, that guide is very outdated and isn’t possible to do anymore. And this guide also takes ZERO block code. Every device has its own drop-down also… so it should be clear to understand.

One final thing, this system will not allow for adding in-game upgrades, so you should use this system only if you want a fixed value for oxygen.

The only other guide I found:
Oxygen Mechanic [5/10] by @recalledMemories

Additional ways this could be used(based on comments from different users)

Stated from @bakedpotato

  • Hunger Meter

  • Poisoning/Burning/over-time damage

  • Freezing (ex. in an arctic climb map)

Materials needed

1x property

For your first zone put this setting in:

This will be for the safe area where no oxygen is lost.

For the second zone put these settings in:

This is used to track when you are in the area with no oxygen and when you are in the safe zone.

Item Granter Setup

Place down one item granter and give it these settings:

Place down another item granter and give it these settings:

These will make sense soon you just need to trust me.

Game Overlay

For the game overlay put these settings:

I know it’s a lot but we must push through.

Property

Put these settings in a property:

Checker Settings

Input these settings into the checker:

For check 1 put these settings:

You can use the all options tab to find these easy.

Put these settings in:

The Dreaded Repeater's Settings

The pain in using this is unbearable but use these settings:

Wiring It All Together

All wires are coming from the knockout manager and going to three other devices.

Second:

Finishing It Up + Final Statement

Once you have done all of these steps MAKE SURE TO TEST IT.

How it should work is so whenever you enter the unsafe zone it will start taking away 1 energy(oxygen) every [Insert your seconds amount here] and when you leave the zone and enter the safe zone you will Regen all of your energy(oxygen) and stop losing energy. If you get knocked out by this system it will shut itself off as long as your gim respawns where the safe zone is(your gim has to spawn in the radius of the safe zone), the health granter is to just grant health as the system will continue for 1 tick after you respawn, causing you to lose 5 hp.

Future Edit: The speed at which your oxygen depletes directly correlates to how fast you will take damage when you run out of oxygen. Lose 1 oxygen every 0.5 seconds = lose 5 health every 0.5 seconds.

Hopefully you have learned something new from this guide.

I’m not gonna use this for oxygen, but this will work great with my Civilization sim’s population and food bars
thanks!

this is well formatted, plenty of pictures, pretty w guide!

However, antlav’s reply made me wonder if you can use this in other ways
could you add that as well?

I genuinely didn’t know that this could be used in different ways… that is why I never said anything about it.

Yay, I needed one of these
But do you have to use a
shiver
repeater?
My memory isn’t holding up well as is

josh just get rid of the repeater and give us extra map memory like

As for other ways to use this:

  • Hunger Meter
  • Poisoning/Burning/over-time damage
  • Freezing (ex. in an arctic climb map)

I mean it doesn’t require a repeater… but I just used it for simplicity.

You could use a trigger or wire repeater, it would just take some modifications, and I don’t currently have enough time to figure that out.

I bumped into this post again after nearly running out of oxygen.

PS: I’m fine now don’t worry. And I did rename the topic but it still works the same way as before.
