Delayed Respawn

I’m making a PVP game where the goal is to get rid of the other team’s prop, so if you get ko’ed you respawn. However I want to make it so that once you get ko’ed you have to wait 5 or so seconds before respawning to make more value in surviving and keeping your HP. How would I do that?

Refresh your page? or maybe it’s your internet?

I would say temp switch to spectator but
you cant switch to another team once on the spectator team
this reminds me of a resurgence mechanic which is sadly where my small bran mode kicks in : /
it seems not possible but I want to test the limits anyways : p

Use a wire repeater to slow down the respawn

he means like a kill cam while they wait to actually respawn not like delayed respawn like before they actually become a spectator (oh dear gawds this explanation is gonna get confusing)

You might be able to connect a repeater to a respawn? Idk how well it would work, but the only timer/time - based thing I can find is a repeater, so that might be your only option. The only problem with it would be the fact that repeaters run a task as soon as they start so that kind of brings you back to square one. You might be able to implement a “Squad respawn” Feature with it, where to timer runs the entire game and every 10 seconds the entire dead population respawns. Just an idea. Hope this helps, if what I said doesn’t make sense just reply.

that would basically just repeatedly respawn you until the timer runs out which tbh is annoying and not really practical for most game mechanics but if it works it works

Have them spawned to an enclosed area, and then a trigger has a 5 sec delay, then teleports them to their spawn.

That seems like it would work, but how would it work if the team already has a set respawn point?

If you use the right code the timer won’t run out – I’m not the best mechanist for these devices so this is the best solution I could get.

They could just be teleported to their spawn point [1]

What device do you use for setting the respawn? Checkpoint?

the continuous respawning still gets annoying tho and nolife’s system is better to say at the least what I’m saying here is that you still have a lot to learn bud or what not :3

I think I might have figured it out. What if you temporarily switched the player’s team to have them respawn in a special location, then switched it back and forced a respawn at the normal location?
