while in editing mode for my maps, i cannot move anything, whether it be a device or a prop, side to side. i can only move them up and down.
this keeps happening even after I close the tab and reopen another one

Try restarting. Cache, cookies clearance, WiFi, check wifi servers nearby. If that doesn’t work please send a gif/screenshot.
Also @Zappy_Zaptos there is an old one so you know, I came across it whilst researching for my guide.

Yes also if it doesn’t work, email gimkit directly, restart your device, delete any gimkit browser history? (IDK Sorry if I am wrong!!)

A computer, a mobile device (iPads, Tablets, Phones, etc.), or something else?
Try pressing h while moving objects like @TheCatIsCrazy said, or try v while moving objects.
if a refresh doesn’t work, completely exit the whole thing, return to the main creative menu, and reopen the map, this usually solves the glitch
try to move the prop vertically , click to confirm the placement, and then try to move it horizontally immediately after
if the bug is not fixed, place a teleporter nearby, use it to teleport to a different spot, and try moving the prop again.
Check terrain settings, if your ground is set to wall instead of floor, it can cause movement restrictions, make sure the base terrain is set to floor
if your map has too many props (high memory usage), it can cause lag that glitches the editor, zooming In all the way or removing unecessary props can fix this.
