Well, I guess if it follows the theme well it’s less likely to be pre-made.
Most game jams have a very unique prompt so cheating is hard but here it would probably be easier to cheat than in a normal game jam.

The problem with that is that this game jam has a rather broad topic. Forest could mean a variety of things that depend on a person’s perceptual view.

Exactly. Get creative with it.
The point of the gim jam is to express yourself and have an equal chance of winning, rather than having a popular map get all the glory.

I would argue that a specific prompt and a 24 hour time frame leads to even more creativity, and less chance of cheating.

I don’t quite get why people are so against the theme
I mean meepsters did say it was and I quote
a yeah forest is a broad topic but that really allows for such a variety of concepts
for example: “an overgrown radiation poisoned forest with mutated plants and animals that you have to survive 5 nights with”
I mean it’s not really saying you just have to theme it on a forest
it’s really suggesting (to me at least) that it has to have some sort of “forest” aspect to it like in the above example I gave
